REAL ORIGINAL CHEX PARTY SNACK MIX
Steps:
- Gather the ingredients. Preheat the oven to 275 F.
- Melt the margarine or butter in a shallow pan over low heat. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, and garlic salt.
- Combine the Wheat Chex, Rice Chex, nuts, and pretzel rods in a large bowl and drizzle with half of the butter mixture. Carefully mix with a wooden spoon to avoid breaking the pretzels and cereal squares. Repeat with the remaining butter mixture, evenly coating all the pieces.
- Place the mix in a shallow baking pan with sides. Bake for 25 to 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to evenly toast the mixture.
- Cool for at least 15 minutes and enjoy.

NUTS AND BOLTS CHEX MIX
I consider this to be the real original chex mix. My Mom was making this back in the 60's before "Chex Mix" was a thing, we called it "Nuts & Bolts" I have tweaked it slightly as I like it a little more savory...just a little more seasoning and Worcestershire sauce. This makes approx 34 cups of mix, I use a big aluminum turkey tray from Sams Club to make it.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 250 deg F.
- Melt butter in small pan and add Worcestershire sauce and seasonings to the melted butter.
- Combine all cereal, nuts and pretzels in a large pan.
- Pour 1/2 butter mixture over the cereal mixture and mix well, then pour the remaining butter mixture over the cereal and mix again.
- Bake at 250 deg F for 1-1/2 hour stirring well every 15 minutes.
- let cool for several hours or over night then bag in zip lock bags.

- Divide the nuts, cereals and pretzels between two or three large baking pans. You’ll need high sided pans to allow for stirring the mixture while baking. Use three pans if needed and rotate the pans while baking.
- Combine the butter, Worcestershire, celery salt, garlic salt and chili powder is a large, microwave safe bowl. Microwave on medium power for 2 minutes, then stir. Repeat until all the butter is melted. Mix well. Using a large spoon or ladle, drizzle the butter mixture over the cereal and nuts, stirring the butter mixture as you go to distribute all the spices that may settle in the bottom of the bowl.
- Bake for 3 hours gently stirring every 15 minutes taking care not to crush the cereal. Use a large flat spatula if you have one, pulling up from the bottom of the pan to ensure all pieces are well coated in the butter mixture. Rotate the pans if needed.
