HAMBURGER STIR-FRY
Here's a quick, easy teriyaki stir fry that uses hamburger instead of the traditional beef strips. It has a nice sauce and is different enough to be a treat for the taste buds! Kathi and John Horst - Westfield, New York

- In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cornstarch and mustard. Stir in water and teriyaki sauce until smooth; set aside., In a large nonstick skillet or wok, cook beef until no longer pink; drain and set aside. In the same pan, stir-fry the vegetable blend and onion in oil until crisp-tender., Stir cornstarch mixture and add to the pan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened. Add beef; heat through. Serve with rice. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Steps:
- In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cornstarch and mustard.
- Stir in water and teriyaki sauce until smooth; set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, stir-fry beef until no longer pink; drain and set aside.
- In the same pan, stir-fry vegetable blend and onion in oil until crisp-tender.
- Stir cornstarch mixture and add to pan.
- Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened.
- Add beef; heat through.
- Serve with rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

STIR-FRY BURGERS

- Heat 1 tablespoon of the oil in a small saucepan over high heat. Add the ginger and garlic and cook until softened, about 2 minutes. Whisk in the hoisin sauce, ketchup, sherry, soy sauce and sesame oil and bring to a boil. Remove from the heat and cool slightly.
- Mix together the beef with the cilantro, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper using your hands until just combined. Form into four 3/4-inch-thick patties, about 4 1/2 inches in diameter. Heat a grill to medium-high heat. Cook the burgers, turning once, about 4 1/2 minutes per side for medium, brushing the burgers with some of the sauce in the last few minutes of cooking time.
- Serve the burgers on the buns with the extra sauce on the side, lettuce and tomato on top if using, and pickles and fries on the side.

- Heat a large pan with a little oil and saute the ground beef until just cooked through. Add the onions. Cook together until the onions are soft.
- In a bowl, mix together the ingredients for the sauce. Add 4 tablespoons of the sauce mixture to the pan and cook for 1 minute more.
- Make a well in the middle of the pan and add the broccoli florets. Drizzle on the remaining sauce over the broccoli and then stir to combine. Cook everything together until the broccoli is vibrant green and crisp tender. Taste and adjust with salt and pepper if needed. Serve over a bowl of rice.
