SAVOURY BEEF BURGERS



Savoury Beef Burgers image

1 tbsp(s) Dijon mustard
0.75 tsp(s) Italian seasoning
0.25 tsp(s) Cumin seeds
0.25 pinch Black pepper
0.25 tsp(s) Table salt
8 piece(s) Lettuce
1 medium Fresh tomato(es) cut into 8 slices
8 medium Uncooked onion(s) red
2 tbsp(s) Uncooked onion(s) minced
4 item(s) Mixed grain hamburger roll(s)

Steps:

  • Heat grill or grill pan. Combine beef, onion, mustard, Italian seasoning, cumin, pepper and salt until thoroughly mixed.
  • Divide beef mixture into 4 equal portions and form patties.
  • Place patties onto grill or grill pan; cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until desired degree of doneness, turning once.
  • To assemble, place one patty on one half of each bun. Top each with 2 lettuce leaves, 2 tomato slices, 2 onion slices and other half of bun.

  • Cook over medium skillet until done.
  • Watch carefully because these burn easily.

I know it is not the time of year for BBQing but I had my niece over last night and she loves her hamburgers, so I made beef and chicken burgers.

Number Of Ingredients 11

850 g mince meat
1 onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, crushed
50 ml tomato puree
1 1/2 tablespoons italian mixed herbs
1 tablespoon parsley
60 ml tomato ketchup
3 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 cup parmesan cheese
1 large egg (or 2 medium eggs)
3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs, flakes (Japanese breadcrumbs available at most Asian grocery stores, regular are fine but you probably need )

Steps:

  • Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl until thoroughly combined.
  • Shape into patties, it will make 6 large burgers and about 8 smaller ones.
  • Heat a small amount of oil in a pan and cook until well browned on each side and meat is cooked through.
  • Serve on buns with your favourite condiments.
