They have Absolutely No Vinegar Taste, They Taste like a Thin Butter Cookie! These are so Easy to make & don't require alot of Ingredients or time, Everytime I make these for someone they want the recipe so its a Good Use of Your time!

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 stick(s) butter, softened
1 cup(s) sugar
1 1/2 cup(s) all purpose flour
1 tablespoon(s) distilled white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon(s) baking soda

Steps:

  • In Large Bowl; with mixer at low speed, beat butter with sugar until blended. Increase Speed to high; beat until light & fluffy about 3 minutes. At Low speed beat in flour, vinegar, & baking soda until mixed; occasionally scraping bowl with rubber spatula. Cover bowl with plastic wrap & refrigerate dough 1 hour or until easy to handle.
  • Preheat Oven to 350, Drop dough by rounded teaspoons, about 2 inches apart, onto Ungreased Large cookie sheet Recipe says 17 to 20 minutes, but Check on your first batch, mine came out Much Sooner, they should only be Golden Brown at the Edges & Set, before you remove them from the cookie sheet (about 30 seconds)Remove with a pancake turner, (they are Very Thin)& onto a wire rack to Cool completely
  • Repeat with remaining dough. Makes about 4 dozen cookies

Another of Nee's recipes I found stuck in a cookbook. I remember making these with her and was always mortified when she put vinegar in the batter (that stuff smells awful, especially when you are a kid!)

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pecans, finely chopped

Steps:

  • Cream butter, sugar and vinegar well.
  • Sift flour with baking soda and salt.
  • Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture.
  • Add vanilla and pecans and stir well.
  • Drop by teaspoons on lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 300°F for 20 minutes or until lightly brown.

  • Place on greased cookie sheet and flatten with a fork or small wooden mallet.
  • Bake 8-10 minutes at 350°.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 c butter, room temperature
1 c sugar
1 1/2 c all purpose flour
1 tsp distilled vinegar
1 tsp baking soda
1 c chopped nuts ( i use pecans)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream together, butter and sugar. Add vinegar,soda,flour and nuts. Drop by teaspoon on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 18-20 minutes depending on your oven. Don't over bake, remove when light golden color. Cool on wire rack.
  • 2. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.

1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
Colored sugar

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in vinegar and vanilla. Combine flour and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. , Roll into 1-in. balls. Place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Flatten to 1/4-in. thickness; sprinkle with colored sugar., Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool for 1 minute before removing from pans to wire racks. Store in an airtight container.
