BEER BATTER BREAD

Beer Batter Bread image

I received this recipe from a friend after desperately trying to find a cheaper way to make beer bread rather than paying $6 a loaf for Tastefully Simple. My mother in law raves over this and she sells TS. She likes this version better and I must say my family doesn't even know the difference.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (12 ounce) bottle beer, at room temperature
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted you can use less

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F In a mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. Add the beer all at once, mixing as little as possible; the batter should be lumpy.

GARLIC CHEDDAR BEER BREAD

Garlic Cheddar Beer Bread image

Whip up a loaf of this Garlic Cheddar Beer Bread in practically no time - and with NO yeast!

Provided by The Chunky Chef

Categories     Bread

Time 55m

Number Of Ingredients 11

3 cups all purpose flour
2 1/2 Tbsp granulated sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp kosher salt
1 - 2 tsp garlic powder (depends on how garlicky you want it)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
12 oz beer
3 Tbsp melted butter
2 1/2 Tbsp melted butter
1 tsp dried parsley ((or around 1 Tbsp minced fresh parsley if you have it))
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly spray the sides of a 9x5" loaf pan. Set aside.
  • To a mixing bowl, add flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder and stir to combine. Stir in the shredded cheese. Make a little well in the center of the dry ingredients.
  • Pour in the beer and stir until no flour streaks remain.
  • Add half of the melted butter to the bottom of prepared loaf pan and tilt the pan around so the butter coats the bottom of the pan. Transfer batter to pan, spreading it out into an even layer.
  • Pour remaining half of the melted butter over the top of the batter, brushing it around so it evenly coats the top.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
  • Whisk together garlic butter topping ingredients (melted butter, parsley and garlic powder) and brush over the top of the loaf when it comes out of the oven.
  • Let bread cool in the pan for 5-7 minutes, brush again with any leftover garlic butter topping, then turn out carefully onto a wire rack to finish cooling.

BEER BATTER BREAD

Beer Batter Bread image

A friend, Dan Shultz, gave me this recipe and convinced me to try this bread. At first I was quite skeptical as I seldom drink alcoholic beverages. The results were a wonderful surprise. This bread was a breeze to make with only 4 ingredients and is delicious. The alcohol bakes out of it and leaves no taste of the beer. My family...

Time 1h15m

Number Of Ingredients 4

3 c self rising flour
1/2 c sugar
1-12oz. can(s) beer at room temperature(bud light or miller light was suggested, however any beer will do.)
1/2 stick butter

Steps:

  • 1. Gather supplies and preheat oven.
  • 2. Mix the sugar and flour together, pour in the beer
  • 3. Allow to sit for 2 minutes and using a rubber spatula mix by folding gently until blended. Put into buttered loaf pan or spray pan with baking spray.
  • 4. Bake in a preheated oven, at 350 degrees, for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and baste the top with the butter. Put the pan back in the oven and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes. Remove the bread from the oven and allow the bread to cool in the pan for 5 minutes on a baking rack. Remove the bread from the pan and continue to cool the loaf on the baking rack NOTE: Though I have always followed this recipe I am sure you could use less sugar and butter and the bread will still be wonderful. This bread is delicious warm or cold, however, letting the bread cool somewhat on the rack allows for better slicing. Use a serrated knife.

TROOPS BBQ PIZZA OVEN TACO PIZZA

Troops BBQ Pizza Oven Taco Pizza image

Put a new twist on Taco Tuesdays with a Taco Pizza! The secret to making this a great pizza is the ground Turkey. Your guests will likely think the meat is beef because of the Taco seasoning, but you'll secretly know the reason the crust cooked to perfection is because of the reduced grease. Serve the slices with a dab of Sour Cream for an extra treat!

Provided by SwagDaddy

Categories     < 60 Mins

Time 55m

Yield 12 Slices, 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 pre-made 12 inch prepared pizza crust
1 lb ground turkey
1 red onion
1 tomatoes
1 jalapeno pepper
1 (16 ounce) can black beans
2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 (2 ounce) packet taco seasoning
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded monterey jack cheese

Steps:

  • Brown the ground Turkey in a skillet. Once browned, add the Taco Seasoning Packet and the water. Use less water than instructed on the Seasoning Packet to compensate for the liquid in the Tomato Sauce.
  • Dice the Red Onion, Tomato and Jalapeno. You will have extra onion.
  • Spread one can of Tomato sauce on each crust.
  • Add half of the seasoned Turkey to each pizza.
  • Rinse the Black Beans in a colander under water to remove the bean juice. Add half the can of Beans to each pizza.
  • Top the pizza with the Onion, Tomato and Pepper.
  • Top with even portions of the Cheddar and Monterrey Jack Cheese on each pizza.
  • Preheat the Troops BBQ Pizza Oven to 400 degrees F with the pizza stone in the oven.
  • Cook each pizza on the pizza stone in the Troops BBQ Pizza Oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is a golden brown.
  • NOTE: It will take about 30 minutes for the charcoal to heat the Troops BBQ Pizza Oven to 400 degrees F. Plan this into the time it takes to make the recipe. While the recipe will also work in a conventional oven, you won't have the same smoke flavor that the pizza oven gives you.
