4 cups uncooked penne pasta
3 Italian sausage links, cut into 1/2-inch slices
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 package (3-1/2 ounces) sliced pepperoni
3-1/2 cups water
2 cans (6 ounces each) tomato paste
2 envelopes thick and zesty spaghetti sauce mix
1 can (2-1/4 ounces) sliced ripe olives, drained
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Cook penne according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a Dutch oven, cook the sausage, mushrooms, pepper and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink and the vegetables are tender; drain and remove from pan., Cook pepperoni in the same pan until heated through. Return sausage mixture to the pan., Stir in the water, tomato paste, spaghetti sauce mix, olives, oil and garlic salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 4-5 minutes to allow flavors to blend., Drain pasta; stir into sausage mixture. Transfer to a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese., Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly.

This versatile one-dish pasta bake uses your favorite pizza ingredients like bell pepper, sausage, pepperoni, and olives--and you can use your family's favorite pasta shapes.

1 pound any shape pasta (such as penne, farfalle, elbows)
1 pound Italian sausage
1 green bell pepper, diced
½ sweet onion, diced
4 ounces sliced pepperoni, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 ounces sliced black olives
2 ounces cream cheese
1 (24 ounce) jar RAGÚ® Old World Style® Traditional Sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package directions.
  • While pasta is cooking, cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until just lightly pink. Add green bell pepper and onion to the sausage. Continue cooking until the meat is cooked through. Add the pepperoni, olives, cream cheese, and sauce. Cook over low heat until heated through and cheese has melted.
  • When pasta is done, drain and return to the pot. Stir the sausage mixture into the pasta; stir to coat the pasta.
  • Add half of the pasta mixture to prepared baking dish. Top with half of the mozzarella cheese. Spread the remaining pasta over the cheese and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with the Italian seasoning and place a few pepperoni slices on top, if you like.
  • Bake until the cheese has melted and the pasta is heated through, about 15 minutes.

1-1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon salt

  • In a Dutch oven, cook sausage, mushrooms, green pepper and onion over medium heat 5-6 minutes or until sausage is no longer pink and vegetables are tender, breaking up sausage into crumbles; drain., Stir in pasta, pizza sauce, water, Italian seasoning and salt; bring to a boil. 1 batch Best Pizza Dough
1 pound bulk Italian sausage
1 cup pizza sauce
4 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 medium red onion, sliced
1 medium green pepper, chopped
2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
Optional: Grated Parmesan cheese, crushed red pepper flakes and fresh oregano leaves

Steps:

  • Divide dough in half. With greased fingers, pat each half onto an ungreased 12-in. pizza pan. Prick dough thoroughly with a fork. Bake at 400° until lightly browned, 10-12 minutes. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain., Spread pizza sauce over crusts. Top with cheese, onion, green pepper, mushrooms and sausage. 3 cups uncooked rotini pasta (9 oz)
1 lb bulk Italian sausage
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1 small bell pepper, chopped (1/2 cup)
1/4 cup water
4 oz sliced Canadian bacon, cut into fourths
1 jar or can (14 or 15 oz) pizza sauce
1 can (4 oz) sliced mushrooms, drained
3/4 cup shredded pizza cheese blend (3 oz)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 3-quart casserole with cooking spray. In 3-quart saucepan, cook and drain pasta as directed on package using minimum cook time. Return pasta to saucepan.
  • While pasta is cooking, cook sausage and onion in 10-inch skillet over medium heat 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sausage is no longer pink; drain. Stir sausage mixture, bell pepper, water, bacon, pizza sauce and mushrooms into pasta. Spoon pasta mixture into casserole. Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Cover casserole. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until hot and cheese is melted.
