It takes less than 10 minutes to whip up this easy appetizer recipe. Serve the savory Bacon Spinach Dip in a bread bowl with crackers or veggies.

Ingredients

20 ounces frozen spinach ((defrosted - 2 boxes))
1 cup mayonnaise
16 ounces sour cream
1 envelope vegetable dip mix
8 ounces water chestnuts ((drained and chopped))
10 slices bacon ((cooked and roughly chopped))
1 round loaf sourdough bread
crackers & pretzels for dipping ((if desired))

Steps:

Drain the defrosted spinach well until there is no excess water.
In a large bowl, combine the drained spinach, mayonnaise, sour cream, vegetable dip, and water chestnuts.
Add the bacon, reserving about 1/4 cup for bacon for garnishing the top of the bread bowl.
Mix ingredients together well, being sure that everything is combined.
Cover and refrigerate dip for 2-3 hours before serving.
If you'd like to serve the spinach dip in a bread bowl, take a large round loaf of sourdough bread and hollow out the center. Be sure to clear at least one or two cups of bread from the inside, while ensuring there's enough bread to create a wall. Add spinach dip into the hollow bowl and garnish with additional bacon before serving.

6 slices bacon, diced
8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cups baby spinach, chopped
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves

Steps:

Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add bacon and cook until brown and crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly oil a 9-inch baking dish or coat with nonstick spray. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan, mayonnaise and Worcestershire. Stir in bacon, spinach, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup cheddar cheese; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Spread bacon mixture into the prepared baking dish; sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheeses. Place into oven and bake until bubbly and golden, about 20-25 minutes. Serve immediately, garnished with bacon and parsley, if desired.
