FRENCH QUARTER PECAN CHEESE SPREAD RECIPE
French Quarter Pecan Cheese Spread Recipe is a unique mix of sweet and savory pecan praline sauce served over cream cheese.

Steps:
- In a small pan on medium-low heat, toast pecans until they're lightly browned and fragrant.
- In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, onion, and garlic.
- Spoon onto a serving platter into a 6 or 7 inch round disc
- In a saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. (I used this mustard.)
- Cook on medium-low heat for 4 to 5 minutes or until sugar is dissolved.
- Remove from heat and stir in pecans.
- Cool slightly before spooning over cream cheese mixture.
- Serve warm or at room temperature with your favorite crackers

- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- In large saucepan over medium heat, combine pecans, sugar, butter, brown sugar, milk and vanilla. Heat to between 234 and 240 degrees F (112 to 116 degrees C), or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms a soft ball that flattens when removed from the water and placed on a flat surface.
- Drop by spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet. Let cool completely.

Steps:
- Generously butter baking sheets.
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, white sugar, water and butter. Bring to a rapid boil and stir in pecans. Continue to cook and stir until large bubbles form on the surface, pecans begin to look sugary and mixture just begins to color. Remove from heat and drop by rounded spoonfuls onto prepared sheets. Let cool completely.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 300º.
- Spread pecans in a single layer on baking sheet and toast for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let stand until cool.
- Melt butter in saucepan and stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and flour.
- Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to low.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and let stand until lukewarm.
- Add the evaporated milk and pecans gradually to the brown sugar mixture, stirring constantly.
- Serve warm with red and green apples for an appetizer or drizzle over ice cream for dessert.
