6 cups day-old bread cubes, crust removed
1 cup raisins, or to taste
4 cups milk
8 eggs
⅔ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Fill an 11x12-inch pan with dried bread cubes and sprinkle with raisins.
  • Combine milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Pour milk-egg mixture over bread cubes and raisins.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

1 loaf (1 pound) day-old cinnamon-raisin bread, cubed
3 cups chopped peeled tart apples
7 large eggs, lightly beaten
2-1/2 cups 2% milk
3/4 cup sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
VANILLA SAUCE:
2/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup cold water
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Pour butter into a 13x9-in. baking dish. Combine bread cubes and apples; sprinkle over butter. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla. Pour over bread; let stand for 15 minutes or until bread is softened. , Bake, uncovered, at 325° for 40-45 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean., In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, salt and water until smooth. Bring to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly. Cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from the heat; stir in butter and vanilla. Serve with warm bread pudding.

4 cups soft bread cubes
¼ cup raisins
2 cups peeled and sliced apples
1 cup brown sugar
1 ¾ cups milk
¼ cup margarine
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs, beaten
¼ cup white sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
½ cup milk
½ cup margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 7x11 inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine bread, raisins, and apples. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup brown sugar, 1 3/4 cups milk, and 1/4 cup margarine. Cook and stir until margarine is melted. Pour over bread mixture in bowl.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and eggs. Pour bread mixture into prepared dish, and pour egg mixture over bread.
  • Bake in preheated oven 40 to 50 minutes, or until center is set and apples are tender.
  • While pudding is baking, mix together sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup milk, and 1/2 cup margarine in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat, and stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla. Serve over bread pudding.

1/2 loaf cinnamon, raisin white bread torn into bite-size pieces
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup pecan halves
1 orange, juice and zest of, large
1/4 cup apple cider
1 tablespoon vanilla extract or 1 tablespoon rum
8 small baking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced (Fuji, Gala or Granny Smith)
1/2 cup blackberry jam or 1/2 cup jelly

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the bread and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until well coated.

1 cup pecans, coarsely chop
3 eggs
8 slices raisin bread, diced
2 cups half-and-half or 2 cups milk
2 medium apples, green
1/4 cup Bourbon or 1/4 cup brandy
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted
1 teaspoon cinnamon
to taste vanilla ice cream (optional)
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Spread pecans in a shallow baking pan and bake until golden, about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Meanwhile, place bread cubes in a greased 3 qt. or larger slow cooker.
  • Peel, core and thinly slice the apples.
  • Mix lightly together the sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg, add eggs and mix well.
  • Blend in half and half or milk and then stir in bourbon or brandy.
  • Lightly mix pecans with bread and apples.
  • Pour egg mixture over bread. Drizzle with butter.
  • Cover and cook on low until apples are tender when pierced and custard is set; about 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours.
  • Let pudding stand, covered, for about 15 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.

Everyone loves it for dessert, but you might also enjoy serving bread pudding for brunch! I have made this and used craisins. You can use any dried chopped fruit. It's great.

4 -5 cups bread, day old cut into 1-inch pieces
2/3 cup raisins or 2/3 cup craisins
5 eggs (I used 4)
1/2 cup sugar
3 1/2 cups milk
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (I used cinnamon)
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. and butter a 2 quart baking dish.
  • Place the bread pieces in a large, shallow bowl and pour the milk over them, making sure that all the bread is moistened.
  • Allow this to sit for up to 1 hour (the longer you soak the bread, the more tender the pudding will be.)
  • Meanwhile, in another bowl, beat the eggs well, then add the sugar and beat again until well mixed.
  • Add nutmeg (and/or cinnamon) and vanilla and mix again.
  • Pour this mixture over the bread and milk mixture, then add the chopped dried fruit like raisins or craisins and toss well.
  • Pour the pudding into the baking dish, dot with butter and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until it is set in the middle and browned on top.
  • Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or pour half and half over each portion.
