RICH PEACH ICE CREAM

"Our family loves ice cream, and this homemade version is a family favorite," says Catherine MacRae Lyerly of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. "I came up with the recipe when I needed to use up the fruit from our peach trees."

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 cups cold fat-free milk
1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
4 medium peaches, peeled and chopped
2 cans (12 ounces each) fat-free evaporated milk
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 carton (8 ounces) fat-free frozen whipped topping, thawed

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat milk and pudding mix on low speed for 2 minutes. Beat in the peaches, evaporated milk, condensed milk, sugar, lemon juice, extracts and salt. Beat in whipped topping just until combined. , Fill cylinder of ice cream freezer two-thirds full; freeze according to manufacturer's directions. Refrigerate remaining mixture until ready to freeze. Transfer to freezer containers; freeze for 2-4 hours before serving.

4 medium peaches (- peeled and sliced)
1 ¼ cup sugar (- divided)
1 Tablespoon lemon juice (- freshly squeezed)
5 large egg yolks
2 cups heavy cream
1 ½ cups whole milk
2 Tablespoons vanilla

Steps:

  • If using a KitchenAid attment, place the bowl in the freezer a full day in advance (or at least 15 hours) before churning.

1/2 lb Peaches ((2 medium size, peeled and chopped))
1 cup Heavy cream
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 cup Organic cane sugar
1 pinch Salt

Steps:

  • Blend the peaches, sugar, milk, and salt in Vitamix until the peaches are pureed and the sugar is dissolved. (Gradually increase Vitamix speed to 6-7)
  • Transfer the mixture into a bowl and add mix in the heavy cream with a spatula.
  • Refrigerate the mixture for 2 hours before churning.
  • Stir the mixture and transfer it to the ice cream maker bowl.
  • Churn the mixture for 25 minutes.
  • Transfer the peach ice cream to a freezer-safe container.
  • Freeze the ice cream for about 5-6 hours before serving.

When my dad had a huge peach orchard we would use the peaches every way we could think of. We made a lot of homemade ice cream. This is our recipe. You can use any fruit or make as plain vanilla. It's no cook time, easy and simply delicious.

4 eggs, beaten
1 cup sugar
1 (10 ounce) can evaporated milk
1 (14 ounce) can brand sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
any fruit
milk, to fill container

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients except milk. This is where you can add fruit or syrup to make the kind of ice cream you want to make.
  • Pour into a ice cream freezer bucket.
  • Finish filling the bucket with the whole or two percent milk.
  • Follow manufacture directions for your freezer to make the ice cream.
