Every time we have a church supper, I have to make this. It's a favorite!

1 (19.8 ounce) package brownie mix
2 (3.9 ounce) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
1 (16 ounce) package frozen whipped topping, thawed
3 (1.4 ounce) bars chocolate covered English toffee

Steps:

  • Prepare brownies according to package directions. Let cool.
  • Mix pudding according to package directions.
  • In a glass punch bowl, layer in the following order: 1/2 of the brownie, crumbled; 1/2 of the pudding; 1 toffee bar, crushed; 1/2 of the whipped topping.
  • Repeat layers in the same order. Save the last toffee bar to crumble and sprinkle on top before serving.
  • Refrigerate. Best if made the day before you serve it.

Do you like chocolate? You have to try this one. You really won't die, but you will think you have died and go to heaven. The prep time includes making the cake.

4 boxes instant chocolate pudding mix or 4 boxes chocolate mousse mix
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 box chocolate cake mix (or your own cake recipe)
1 cup Kahlua (optional)
6 Skor candy bars or 6 Heath candy bars, chopped (chocolate toffee bars)

Steps:

  • Prepare cake mix as directed, or make your own chocolate cake recipe and bake in a 9 x 13 inch pan.
  • When done, remove from the oven, poke holes in the cake and pour the kahlua over the cake.
  • Let cool.
  • Meanwhile prepare the pudding or mousse.
  • Tear or crumble the cake into pieces.
  • In a glass trifle bowl layer in this order: 1/3 of cake, 1/3 of pudding, 1/3 of whipped topping and 1/3 of candy bars.
  • Repeat layers ending with chopped candy bars on top.
  • Chill well.

This I have made many ways. If you don't like coffee and want a sweet dessert kids will LOVE, use sweetened condensed milk to pour over the cake (about 2/3 of the can) and refrigerate until completely cool. If you want a party dessert adults will love, use Kaluha, about 1/2 cup. Cool whip makes a great sub for whipped cream (might even be better!) but I am trying to use less "fake" foods so I choose to do real. the cool whip holds up better if this will be around for days though! Chocolate mousse is my favorite here, but lots of people have a hard time finding it, i know only a few stores around me carry it so I am listing it with pudding, but if you can find mousse, USE IT!

18 1/2 ounces devil's food cake mix (any chocolate cake is fine)
3 eggs
water
1/2 cup applesauce (i sub this for the oil here, it works fine, but use oil if you prefer)
2 (4 ounce) boxes chocolate pudding
4 cups 2% low-fat milk
6 ounces Heath candy bars, crushed
3 cups whipped cream
1/2 cup strong coffee (or the condensed milk or kaluah)

Steps:

  • mix cake with eggs, applesauce and water and bake according to directions in 13x9 in pan.
  • cool 5 minutes then poke holes with a fork all over the cake and pour your choice of liquid over the top.
  • cool 15 minutes and then refrigerate until completely cool.
  • prepare pudding (or mousse) with milk
  • cut cake into cubes and place them in the bottom of the trifle dish (you will probably only use 1/3 of the cake now).
  • spread half of the pudding over cake and half of the whipped cream over the pudding. sprinkle with half of the heath.
  • repeat layers, ending with heath.
  • refrigerate 3 hours or overnight.

1 sleeve chocolate graham crackers, crushed
1 cup sweetened flaked coconut
1 1/2 cups finely chopped pecans
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
2 3 ounce packages instant chocolate pudding mix
3 cups cold milk
5 - 7 bananas, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch chunks
1 8 ounce container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300°F In a large bowl, combine graham-cracker crumbs, coconut, pecans, and sugar. Add melted butter, stirring until well combined. Spread mixture on a rimmed sheet pan and bake for approximately 15 minutes until coconut is golden brown, stirring regularly and watching to prevent burning. Set aside to cool.* In another bowl, beat cream cheese at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Add condensed milk and beat until well combined. Stir in pudding mix and milk and beat until mixture is smooth Reserve 2 tablespoons crumb mixture. In a large glass serving bowl or in individual stemmed glasses, layer 1/3 of the pudding, 1/2 of the bananas, 1/2 of the crumb mixture, another 1/3 of the pudding, 1/2 of the crumb mixture, remaining bananas, and remaining pudding Top with whipped topping and sprinkle reserved crumbs on top. *Crumb mixture can be prepared ahead of time and stored in an airtight container

1 ¼ cups water
½ cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1 ⅔ cups milk
¾ cup strong brewed coffee
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
6 (1.4 ounce) bars chocolate covered toffee bars, frozen and crushed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch pan.
  • Mix cake batter according to package directions, adding water, oil, and eggs as directed. Spread batter into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven until a tester comes out clean, about 30 minutes. Cool and crumble. Make pudding, according to package directions, with milk.
  • In a large trifle or other glass serving bowl, place half of the crumbled cake. Pour half of the coffee over the cake, and spread half of the pudding over that. Top with half of the whipped topping, sprinkled with half the crumbled candy bars. Repeat layers in the same order. Refrigerate until serving.

This is one of my favorite desserts to take to a potluck because it makes a huge bowlful. Also, it's delicious! Chill time is included in cook time.

2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup evaporated skim milk
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup coffee-flavored liqueur (such as Kahlua)
1 (16 ounce) angel food cake, cut into 1 inch cubes
2 (1 1/2 ounce) english toffee-flavored candy bars, crushed
3 cups skim milk
3 (3 1/2 ounce) packages vanilla instant pudding mix (not sugar-free)
2 cups sliced bananas
1 (12 ounce) container Cool Whip (reduced calorie or fat-free OK)
1 (1 1/2 ounce) english toffee-flavored candy bars, crushed

Steps:

  • Combine sugar, evaporated milk, cocoa and cornstarch in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Cook until sugar dissolves and mixture is thick (about 3 minutes), stirring frequently.
  • Remove from heat and stir in coffee liqueur.
  • Set aside to cool.
  • When chocolate mixture is cool, combine with cake cubes in a large bowl.
  • Mix 2 crushed candy bars in with cake mixture.
  • Beat milk and pudding mix at medium speed of a mixer until well-blended.
  • Stir into cake mixture.
  • Cover and chill for 15 minutes in refrigerator.
  • Spoon half of cake mixture into a trifle dish or large bowl (about 4 quart).
  • Arrange half of bananas evenly over cake mixture and top with half of cool whip.
  • Repeat layers, ending with cool whip.
  • Sprinkle with remaining toffee bar.
  • Chill for 1 hour before serving.
