Cheddar and Chile Beer Bread image

This bread is always a hit for gifts. My friends and family love this bread and its gone in a flash. It is easy to put together too. Can't remember where I found the recipe though.

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 cups self rising flour
2 -3 tablespoons sugar
1 (12 ounce) can Budweiser beer
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 (4 ounce) can ortega diced green chilies
6 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Grease lightly a 9x5 loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, stir flour,sugar,beer,cheese and chilies together.
  • Spread into greased pan evenly.
  • Pour melted butter over top Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • NOTE: Check to see if a fork,knife or toothpick comes out clean when inserted to see if bread is done.

3 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 (12 ounce) bottle beer (Non-Alcoholic or Light Beer may be substituted)
3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted

Steps:

  • Stir together first 5 ingredients; pour into a lightly greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.
  • Pour melted butter over top.
  • Bake 10 more minutes.

1 cup chopped green chile pepper
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
3 cups self-rising flour
3 tablespoons white sugar
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • Blend green chiles and cheese together in a blender until smooth.
  • In a large bowl, stir together chile mixture, flour, sugar and beer together in a large mixing bowl until you get a sticky dough. Scoop dough into prepared pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
