BROWN SUGAR BBQ RUB
This is my favorite rub to use when I smoke meats. I threw it together to use on smoked pork butt, but it also works really well on chicken and ribs. Apply liberally to meat and let sit overnight for best flavor. The brown sugar helps make a nice bark. Makes enough to cover two 8-pound pork butts or 6 racks of ribs.

- Combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, dry mustard, black pepper, cayenne, and cinnamon in a small airtight container. Seal and store in a cool, dark place until ready to use.

- Lightly oil a large baking dish.
- Arrange chicken pieces in a single layer in pan.
- Place onion slices on top and dot with butter or margarine.
- Blend remainging ingredients together and pour over chicken.

BROWN-SUGAR BBQ CHICKEN DRUMETTES
A simple, sweet barbecue sauce will please even finicky eaters.

- In a medium bowl, whisk together ketchup, sugar, Worcestershire, and vinegar; season with salt and pepper. Set aside 1 cup sauce for tossing raw chicken; use rest for baked chicken.
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees, with racks in upper and lower thirds; line 2 rimmed baking sheets with aluminum foil.
- Divide drumettes between baking sheets, and toss with reserved 1 cup sauce.
- Bake chicken until opaque throughout, 30 to 35 minutes, rotating sheets and tossing chicken halfway through. Toss baked drumettes with 1/2 cup sauce, and serve with remaining sauce on the side.

WEGMAN'S BROWN SUGAR BARBECUE CHICKEN
Posting here for safe keeping. From Wegman's Menu Magazine Summer 2009. The original recipe called for it to be baked in the oven for the entire time. I prefer cooking it on the grill after I partially bake it in the oven. The chicken needs to marinate in the refrigerator at least 6 hours.

- Mix barbecue seasoning, brown sugar, salt and basting oil in a bowl.
- Add chicken, tossing to coat.
- Marinate covered 6-8 hours in refrigerator.
- Preheat oven to 350 and preheat gas grill.
- Bake chicken pieces in oven for approx 30 mins and transfer to platter.
- Place chicken pieces on the grill until cooked, approx 5 minutes on each side.
