HALLOWEEN BAT CUPCAKES
These creepy creations, which start from Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ dark chocolate cupcakes, are sure to fly off your Halloween party dessert table!

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Place paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups.
- In large bowl, beat cake mix, buttermilk, oil and eggs with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes. Stir in crushed cookies. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups.
- Bake 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to cooling racks. Cool completely.
- Stir food color into frosting; frost cupcakes. Insert 1 chocolate wafer cookie piece on each side of cupcake to look like bat wings. Place 1 miniature sandwich cookie between cookie pieces for bat body. Squeeze 2 small dots white icing onto each cookie; attach candy eyes.

- Prepare and bake cake mix according to package directions for cupcakes. Cool completely., Spread frosting over cupcakes. For bat wings, cut cookies in half; insert 2 cookie halves into each cupcake., Gently press chocolate kisses into frosting for heads. Add eyes with decorating icing.

- Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Place paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups. Make and bake cake mix as directed on box for 24 cupcakes. Cool in pans 10 minutes; remove from pans to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
- Stir food color into frosting until well blended; frost tops of cupcakes.
- Line large cookie sheet with waxed paper or cooking parchment paper. On another piece of paper, draw and cut out bat shape about 2 1/2 x 1 inch. Place shape under waxed paper. In small microwavable bowl, place chocolate chips. Microwave uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave in 15-second increments, stirring after each, until melted and smooth. Place chocolate in small resealable freezer plastic bag; seal. Cut off tiny corner of bag. Squeeze chocolate onto waxed paper to make bat, filling in bat shape underneath as guide and making 24 bats. Cut 1/4-inch pieces of licorice; place on each bat for eyes. Refrigerate about 15 minutes or freeze about 5 minutes until set. Peel waxed paper from chocolate. Place 1 chocolate bat on top of each cupcake just before serving. Store loosely covered.

I make dozens of these each Halloween. They are so cute! My kids expect to be able to take them to school even when I am not the Halloween party mom! I also take some to work and the people who dress up in costumes get one as a prize - they come looking for me to show me their costumes!

- Break the cookies in half, and press two halves into the top of each cupcake for wings, stripes facing the frosting. Place a chocolate kiss in front of the cookies with the point facing forward for the body. Make two beady little eyes with the red gel icing towards the point of the kiss. Let the fun begin!
