Categories     Appetizer     Beef     Main Course

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 batch Special Burger Sauce
2 8 oz tubes crescent roll dough (separated into 16 triangles)
8 slices bacon
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
1 medium onion (finely diced)
1 1/2 Tbsp hamburger or steak seasoning
1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
16 dill pickle slices
12 slices American cheese
2 Tbsp butter (melted)
1 Tbsp sesame seeds

Steps:

  • In a small mixing bowl, whisk together ingredients for Special Burger Sauce. Place into an airtight container and chill until using.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a large baking sheet with foil. Spray liberally with cooking spray.
  • Meanwhile, in a large 12 inch skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Remove to paper towels, reserving 3 Tbsp drippings in pan. Cook onion and ground beef in drippings over medium-high heat. Cook until no pink remains. Add hamburger or steak seasoning and salt, mixing well. Drain excess fat from pan.
  • Crumble cooked bacon, adding to ground beef. Add 1/2 cup sauce and mix well. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • To assemble crescent ring: Place a ramekin or cereal bowl in center of baking pan. Arrange crescent triangles, slightly overlapping, around ramekin with pointed ends pointing outwards.
  • Cover bottom of widest portion of crescent rolls with 5 slices cheese. Spread ground beef mixture over cheese. Top with remaining 5 slices cheese. Arrange pickle slices on top.
  • Bring pointed end of triangle over filling, tucking underneath the other side. Brush with butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden. Let stand for 5 minutes then slice and serve with remaining sauce.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 lb ground beef, cooked and drained
1/3 cup ranch dressing
4 slices cooked bacon, chopped
2 cans (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls (8 Count)
16 dill pickle slices (chips)
4 slices American cheese, cut in half

  • Spoon beef mixture on the half of each rectangle closest to center of ring; top each with 2 pickle slices and 1 piece of cheese.
  • Bring each dough rectangle up over filling, tucking dough under bottom layer of dough to secure it. Repeat around ring until entire filling is enclosed (some filling might show a little).
  • Gently separate dough perforations on top until filling peeks through. Brush dough lightly with water; sprinkle with sesame seed. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until dough is golden brown and thoroughly baked. Cool 5 to 10 minutes before cutting into serving slices.

Have your golden, flaky crescent rolls and eat your cheeseburger too: This crowd-pleasing ring is filled with beef and all your favorite burger toppings--bacon, cheese, pickles and a special sauce.

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Time 1h15m

Yield 8 to 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 13

3/4 cup ketchup
3/4 cup mayonnaise
40 dill pickle chips, finely chopped, plus 16 whole dill pickle chips (from a 32-ounce jar)
1/3 cup yellow mustard
6 strips bacon, chopped
Half small red onion, finely chopped
1 pound ground beef
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Nonstick cooking spray, for the pan
Two 8-ounce tubes refrigerated crescent roll dough
5 slices American cheese, cut in half
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Stir together the ketchup, mayonnaise, chopped pickles and mustard in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  • Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until golden and crispy, 3 to 4 minutes per side. Drain all but 1 tablespoon of bacon drippings from the skillet. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, 2 to 3 minutes. Add in the ground beef, 1/2 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of pepper and cook, breaking the meat up with a wooden spoon and scraping up any brown bits in the pan, until golden brown in spots and cooked through, 5 to 6 minutes. Transfer to a medium bowl and let cool slightly, about 15 minutes. Stir in 3/4 cup of the ketchup sauce.
  • Coat the back of a baking sheet with cooking spray. Unroll both cans of crescent dough and separate unto 16 triangles. Put a 5-inch ramekin in the center of the prepared baking sheet. Arrange the triangles in a ring around the ramekin so the short sides of the dough are touching the ramekin, overlapping slightly, and the pointed ends are facing outward (it should look like a giant sun).
  • Spoon the beef mixture over the short ends of the triangles closest to the ramekin. Cover the beef with the cheese slices. Top the cheese with the pickle slices. Remove the ramekin. Take hold of the pointed end of one of the triangles and fold it up and over the filling, tucking the tip under the bottom edge of dough to secure (the dough will not cover the filling completely but should cover the pickle slice). Repeat with the remaining triangles (there will be some gaps where you can see the beef mixture).
  • Bake until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 25 minutes. Brush the ring with butter and sprinkle on the sesame seeds. Let cool for 15 minutes. Use a spatula to slide the ring off the baking sheet onto a platter. Serve with the remaining ketchup sauce.
