- Lay strips of bacon on a rimmed baking sheet, bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until cooked, but not crispy.

- Prepare an ice bath by placing 2 cups of ice cubes in a bowl, add very cold water, set aside.
- Add the green beans to the boiling water and cook for 3 minutes.
- Drain the beans and immediately put them in the ice bath to stop the cooking.
- Place melted butter, sugar, soy sauce, and pressed garlic into a measuring cup or small bowl. Stir until combined.
- Place the blanched green beans in a 9x13 baking dish.
- Pour the sauce over and toss to coat the beans well.
- Add the bacon over the top. Bake for 20-30 minutes. Serve immediately.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. In a small microwave bowl, melt the butter; stir in the brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. (I also added about 1/4 teaspoon salt since my soy sauce was Lite). Set aside. Place the well-drained green beans in a 13x9-inch baking pan. Scatter the cooked bacon pieces over the top of the beans. Drizzle the brown sugar mixture over the bacon and beans. Bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes. Serve hot. (There will be liquid in the bottom of the pan because of the butter, and moisture from the beans. I drained it out before serving).

My daughter made dinner for us one night and she had these yummy beans. We fell in love with them, now we ask for them every time we have a family meal. They are easy to fix and a great change for plain green beans.

ARKANSAS GREEN BEANS
This is a great twist on traditional green bean casserole! If you prefer you could substitute a similar amount of frozen green beans, about 4 (12-ounce) bags, thawed, or you can use fresh green beans, too.
