c 3/4 cup flour
tsp 1 teaspoon sugar
Tbsp 2 tablespoons cornmeal
tsp 2 teaspoons baking poweder
Tbsp 1 teaspoon salt ( more or less according to taste)
c 2/3rd cup of milk
small 1 small egg
c 2 1/2 cups of grated (or finely chopped) sweet onion
fl oil for frying

Steps:

  • 1. mix together dry ingredients add milk, beaten egg and stir batter will be thick add onions and mix throughly heat 1/4 inch oil in skillet over medium high heat drop batter by tablespoons in hot oil flatten slightly brown on both sides until nice and crisp drain on paper towels

1 tablespoon Domino sugar
1 tablespoon cornmeal
2 teaspoons Clabber Girl baking powder
2 teaspoons Morton salt (adjust the salt to your family's taste I only used 1 teaspoon)
3/4 cup TruMoo milk
2 1/2 cups chopped onions, about 2 small onions
Wesson oil for frying

Steps:

  • Mix together dry ingredients. Add milk and stir, batter will be thick. dd onions and mix throughly. Heat 1/2 inch oil in skillet over medium high heat. Drop batter by tablespoons in hot oil. Flatten slightly and brown on both sides until nice and crisp. Drain on paper towels. As my son puts it, now gobble them up!

3/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
1 tablespoon Cornmeal
1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar
2 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
3/4 cup Milk
2 cup Yellow Onion
as needed Frying Oil

Steps:

  • Mix All-Purpose Flour (3/4 cup), Cornmeal (1 tablespoon), Baking Powder (2 teaspoon), Salt (1 teaspoon) and Granulated Sugar (1 tablespoon) in a large bowl. Add Milk (3/4 cup) and stir.
  • Add chopped Yellow Onion (2 cup) and mix thoroughly. The mixture will be thick and that's what we want.
  • Heat 1/2 inch of Frying Oil (as needed) in a skillet over medium-high heat. Using a tablespoon, drop batter in hot oil, flatten ever so slightly. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side or until brown and crisp. Drain on a paper towel.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

2 tsp cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 1/2 cups onion (chopped)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup milk

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix the sugar, flour, cornmeal, salt, baking powder, and black pepper until combined.
  • Mix the onions into the dry ingredients, then add the milk until well combined.
  • Place the oil in a skillet or frying pan and heat it on the stovetop. Once the oil is hot enough, place 4-5 patties (1/4 cup each) in the pan.
  • Cook until lightly brown, then flip and cook the other side. Transfer the onion patties to paper towels.

1 tsp black pepper
2 Tbsp yellow cornmeal
2 c chopped white onion
1 c milk
1 c vegetable oil

Steps:

  • 1. In a large mixing bowl whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper.
  • 2. Add chopped onions, tossing with a fork to coat well with flour mixture.
  • 3. Make a well, pour in milk and stir to just combined.
  • 4. Add oil to a large skillet and heat to medium high.
  • 5. Drop batter by 1/4 cup into hot oil, cooking for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  • 6. Carefully turn patties and cook for another 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  • 7. Drain patties on a wire rack, lightly salt, repeat above steps cooking the remaining batter.
  • 8. Serve hot with options like ketchup, salsa, ranch dressing or do what I do, put it on my burger.

3 to 4 medium onions, chopped
2 cups cold butter, divided
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1-1/2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
5 large eggs, room temperature
3/4 cup 2% milk
3/4 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook onions in 1/2 cup butter over low heat for 10 minutes. Stir in the poppy seeds, salt, paprika and pepper; cook until onions are golden brown, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat; set aside. , In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder and sugars. Cut in 1-1/4 cups butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Melt the remaining butter. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, sour cream and melted butter. Make a well in dry ingredients; stir in egg mixture just until moistened. , Spread into a greased 10-in. cast-iron skillet or springform pan. Spoon onion mixture over the batter. Place pan on a baking sheet. Bake at 350° until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 35-40 minutes. Serve warm.
