1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon oil
1 (16 ounce) package kielbasa, sliced 1/2 inch
2 cups sliced carrots
1 cup sliced celery
1 cup chopped onion
4 cups chopped cabbage
1 cup white wine or 1 cup apple juice
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Heat butter in a Dutch oven, add kielbasa and brown lightly over medium high heat.
  • Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
  • Add carrots, celery and onion and cook over medium heat until softened.
  • Add remaining ingredients and kielbasa, bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

1 pound smoked kielbasa or Polish sausage, cut into 1/4-inch slices
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 package (16 ounces) frozen vegetables for beef stew
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon onion soup mix
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon cold water

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, brown sausage in oil over medium-high heat. Remove with a slotted spoon and keep warm. Add the vegetables, broth and soup mix to skillet. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10-12 minutes or until vegetables are tender., Return sausage to the pan. Combine cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into sausage mixture. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1 minute or until thickened.

1/2 pound smoked turkey kielbasa or Polish sausage, sliced
1 pound potatoes, peeled and cubed
2 cups shredded cabbage
1 large onion, chopped
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) reduced-sodium chicken broth
3/4 cup water, divided
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon caraway seeds
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 can (16 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
3 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan or nonstick skillet, brown sausage over medium heat. Add the potatoes, cabbage, onion, broth, 1/2 cup water, sugar, caraway seeds and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15-18 minutes or until potatoes are tender, stirring occasionally., Add beans and cider vinegar; cover and simmer 5-10 minutes longer. 5 bacon strips
1 to 1-1/2 pounds smoked kielbasa or Polish sausage, thinly sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cans (15-1/2 ounces each) great northern beans, undrained
2 cans (8 ounces each) tomato sauce
1 can (4 ounces) chopped green chilies
2 medium carrots, thinly sliced
1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • In a 12-in. skillet, cook bacon until crisp; remove to paper towel to drain. Cook sausage and onions in drippings over medium heat until onion is tender; drain. , Stir in remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. 1 tablespoon butter
1 (14 ounce) can beef broth
1 (10.75 ounce) can tomato soup
1 ½ cups water
3 cups shredded cabbage
1 onion, chopped
½ cup diced green bell pepper
1 ½ teaspoons salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
¼ cup sour cream

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook sausage in butter until brown. Pour broth, tomato soup and water into pan with sausage. Stir in cabbage, onion and bell pepper and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 45 minutes, or until flavors are well blended. 6 slices bacon
1 onion, chopped
1 lb kielbasa, smoked fully cooked, thinly sliced (up to 1 1/2 pounds)
2 (15 1/2 ounce) cans great northern beans
2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 (4 ounce) can green chilies, chopped
2 medium carrots, thinly sliced
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Fry bacon in skillet until crisp.
  • Crumble bacon and place in large slow cooker.
  • Add onions and sausage to drippings in skillet.
  • Cook until onions are soft.
  • Transfer onions and sausage to slow cooker.
  • Add all remaining ingredients to cooker and stir together well.
  • Cover.
  • Cook on low 8-10 hours, or until vegetables are tender.

  • Add Italian seasoning, undrained tomatoes, beans, chicken broth and parmesan cheese rind if using, then turn heat up to high to bring stew to a boil. Turn heat back down to medium then add potatoes, partially cover with the lid, and simmer until potatoes are tender, 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add baby spinach then cook until wilted, 1 minute. Scoop stew into bowls then top with parmesan cheese and serve.
