Portable & perfect as a snack, appetizer or party dish, Walking Tacos are totally delicious! Just pile taco toppings on top of your favorite bag of chips!

16 Small bags of Fritos or Doritos
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons taco seasoning or 1 packet (1 ounce)
1 1/2 cups thick and chunky salsa
Cheese
Sour cream
Lettuce
Tomatoes
Black beans
Jalapeno (, sliced)
Green onions
Black olives (, sliced)
Avocado
Salsa
Pico de Gallo

Steps:

  • Add ground beef to a large skillet, using vegetable oil, if needed. If using lean beef (turkey or chicken) oil will be necessary. Cook until no pink remains.
  • Drain and return to the skillet.
  • Add beef back into pan and mix with taco seasoning and salsa, stir well until fully coated.
  • Serve immediately with bags of Fritos or Doritos and toppings of your choice.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pound ground beef
1 envelope reduced-sodium chili seasoning mix
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 can (10 ounces) diced tomatoes and green chiles
1 can (15 ounces) Ranch Style beans (pinto beans in seasoned tomato sauce)
5 packages (1 ounce each) corn chips
Toppings: Shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream and sliced green onions

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink, breaking into crumbles, 6-8 minutes; drain. Stir in chili seasoning mix, pepper, tomatoes and beans; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until thickened, 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally., Just before serving, cut open corn chip bags. Add beef mixture and toppings.

Walking tacos are everything you love about a crunchy, hard shell corn taco but served out of a bag for ease and portability.

1 pound ground beef
1 (1-ounce) envelope taco seasoning mix
1 (10-ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chilies
1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
6 (1-ounce) bags corn chips
Optional topping: Shredded cheddar cheese
Optional topping: Sour cream
Optional topping: Fresh cilantro

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • In a large skillet, brown the beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain off the excess fat.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning mix, the can of diced tomatoes with green chilies, and the pinto beans. Bring to a boil. Reduce and simmer uncovered until thickened, about 10 minutes.
  • When ready to serve, open the bags of corn chips and set up the walking taco bar. Transfer the taco meat and beans mixture to a bowl with a spoon. Include options for favorite taco toppings.
  • Spoon some of the beef mixture into the corn chip bag. Fill with your favorite taco toppings. Eat with a plastic spoon directly from the bag.

1 pkg. (1 oz.) TACO BELL® Taco Seasoning Mix
1 VELVEETA Fresh Packs (4 oz.), cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 tomato, chopped
1/2 cup sour cream
8 small bags corn chips (1 oz. each)

Steps:

  • Cook meat with taco seasoning mix as directed on package, adding VELVEETA for the last 2 min. of the cooking time and stirring frequently until VELVEETA is completely melted and mixture is well blended. Spoon into serving bowl; place on tray.
  • Spoon lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream into separate bowls; place on tray next to taco meat. Add opened bags of chips.
  • Spoon taco meat over chips (in bags) just before serving; top with lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream.
