TOMATO PORK LOIN CHOPS



Tomato Pork Loin Chops image

Rich, tasty, and easy to make with delicious, on hand ingredients! Serve with egg noodles, if you want.

2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
4 boneless pork loin chops, pounded thin
1 large onion, sliced
½ teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons chili powder
½ teaspoon fennel seeds, crushed
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
2 fluid ounces water
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a skillet over high heat, and quickly brown the pork chops on both sides. Transfer chops to platter, and keep warm.
  • Reduce skillet heat to medium, and cook the onion until tender. Mix in the sugar, chili powder, fennel, red pepper flakes, and oregano. Stir in the tomato sauce, water, and Worcestershire sauce, and bring to a boil.
  • Return the pork chops to the skillet. Cover, reduce heat to low, and cook 10 minutes. Remove cover, and continue cooking 15 minutes, or to desired doneness.

This is a tried and true family recipe! The sauce can be used as a dip for crusty French bread.

3 tablespoons olive oil
4 thick cut boneless pork chops
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 (10 ounce) can tomato sauce
¼ cup water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Heat olive oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Place pork chops in the skillet, and brown about 5 minutes on each side. Remove from heat.
  • In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, salt, pepper, and dry mustard.
  • Arrange pork chops in a medium baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice, season with brown sugar mixture, and cover with tomato sauce. Pour water into the baking dish.
  • Cover, and bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, to an internal temperature of 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 tablespoon olive oil
4 boneless pork loin chops (5 ounces each)
1 large onion, chopped
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1/4 cup water
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Brown pork chops on both sides. Remove; keep warm. In same skillet, cook and stir onion until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients., Return pork to skillet. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, 15-20 minutes or until tender. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Serve with sauce.

4 pork chops
1 pinch garlic salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
2 stalks chopped celery, with leaves
12 ounces tomato paste
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
3 cups water

Steps:

  • Season pork chops with garlic salt to taste. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium high heat. Add chops and brown in oil for about 4 to 6 minutes each side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, saute onion and celery until translucent. Add tomato paste and heat through, stirring, until liquid is bubbling. Add tomato sauce and heat through, stirring, until bubbling. Add water to thin sauce. Return chops to skillet, reduce heat to very low and let simmer until meat is very tender and sauce thickens (about 1 1/2 to 2 hours), adding water as needed.
