LEMON DROP COCKTAIL
This lemon drop cocktail is a riff on a classic martini and is perfect for those who want a strong cocktail, but don't really have a taste for alcohol.

Steps:
- First, sugar the rim of your glass. Place the sanding sugar in a shallow dish big enough to fit the mouth of your glass in.
- Wet the edges of the glasses (using either simple syrup or water) and then immediately dip the edge into the sanding sugar, rotating to coat the edge completely. Set aside.
- In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the remaining ingredients.
- Attach lid and shake well.
- Divide the lemon drop cocktail between your glasses.
- Zest two small strip of lemon skin from your lemon, and then twist well. We like to use a chopstick or a skewer to wrap to skin around.
- Garnish the glass with the lemon twist and serve.

- Run lemon wedge around the rim of a cocktail glass to dampen, then dip in sugar to coat.
- Combine vodka, lemon juice, lemon simple syrup, and orange-flavored liqueur in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, seal, and shake until shaker frosts over. Pour into a martini glass to serve.

After a lot of trial and error, I finally found the perfect combination...not too sweet, not too sour, not too strong. Fresh lemon juice makes this cocktail amazing and refreshing. Also, perfect to make in a pitcher for parties (just adjust the servings).

- Combine simple syrup, fresh lemon juice and vodka either in a shaker with ice or make in a pitcher.
- Rim the glass with ultrafine baker's sugar and a slice of lemon. Voila!
- **To make simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar to equal parts water in sauce pan. Heat until sugar is dissolved. Cool. You can also make this ahead of time and keep in the fridge.
- **I buy bulk lemons from Costco. Less costly and you definitely get more for your money. I juice the lemons with an electric juicer and have even frozen some juice for later use.

- Using lemon slice, moisten the rim of a chilled cocktail glass; set lemon aside. Sprinkle sugar on a plate; hold glass upside down and dip rim into sugar. Discard remaining sugar on plate. Fill a shaker three-fourths full with ice. Add vodka, limoncello and lemon juice; cover and shake until condensation forms on outside of shaker, 10-15 seconds. Strain into prepared glass.
