Peas with Mushrooms image

Very easy. Great with steak or fish.

1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons butter
1 (10 ounce) package frozen green peas, thawed
1 (4.5 ounce) jar sliced mushrooms, drained
1 teaspoon white sugar
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon dried thyme
1 pinch black pepper

Steps:

  • Cook peas according to package directions. Set aside.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Saute onion and garlic in butter until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in the peas and mushrooms, then season with sugar, salt, thyme and pepper. Reduce heat to low, and cook just until heated through.

2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 dash pepper

Steps:

  • Cook peas according to package directions; drain.
  • Meanwhile, in a skillet, sauté mushrooms and onion in butter until onion is crisp-tender.
  • Stir in sugar, salt, pepper and peas.
  • Cover and cook until heated through.

  • in medium pan heat the saute the onion and mushroom until tender and slightly brown. Add the peas to the pan and toss until peas are warmed up and evenly mix with the mixture. Serve and enjoy.

This is an great side with mashed potatoes and chicken! Company loves this one and so does my husband. Not the boring everyday plain peas.

2 cups frozen green peas
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 small chopped onion
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 cup light cream
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pinch ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • Fill a small saucepan with one inch of water. Bring to a boil, add peas, and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add mushrooms and onions, and cook for a few minutes, or until tender. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms, and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually stir in cream, and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Cook, stirring until smooth and thick. Stir in peas, and remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

5 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 shallots, minced
12 ounces fresh white mushrooms, thinly sliced
2 cups frozen baby peas, thawed

1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add the ravioli; cook according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over med-high heat.
  • Add in the shallots and mushrooms; cook to brown the mushrooms and evaporate the liquid, about 10 minutes.
  • Add in the peas and cook for a few minutes to heat them.
  • Add the ravioli to the skillet, tossing well to combine and heat through.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
