THE PERFECT MARGARITA
Mastering the margarita requires a certain amount of practice, but once you dial-in your perfect ratio, it's a really easy cocktail to replicate. The classic recipe is 3 parts tequila, 2 parts triple sec, and 1 part freshly squeezed lime juice, and you should probably start off pretty close to that, but my personal favorite proportions are 4-3-2.

BONNIE'S: THE ULTIMATE MARGARITA

Steps:
- 1. PREP WORK: Plan ahead and it will go smoothly. Give your margarita glasses a quick rinse and set them in the freezer for an hour or so, and they will have a beautiful rim of frost on them when you take them out. (If you are making margaritas for 30 or 40 people, you can use small martini glasses, set them on a tray and put the tray in the freezer.) Slice the lime into wedges and cut the center of each with a sharp knife so it rests on the rim of the glass. Have your margarita salt poured into a saucer ready to use.
- 2. MAKE THE MARGARITAS: Add 1 shot of Bols Triple Sec, 1/3 cup Cointreau, 2/3 cup of Jose Cuervo tequila.
- 3. Fill crushed ice up to under the top part of the handle of the blender. This will be a little over three to four cups of crushed ice. (My blender is an Oster.)
- 4. Pour 2 cups of Mr. and Mrs. T's Sweet and Sour mix up to the top, be careful not to overflow when you start the blender. Blend fast. It will be nice and slushy.
- 5. Take your frosty glasses and a piece of sliced lime and run it around the lip of the rim, and immediately roll the rim in the margarita salt. Pour the frozen margarita mixture into the glasses, and add a slice of lime to the rim. This makes 3 old-fashioned bowl-shaped margarita glasses or three of today's tapered glasses. Just before drinking, squeeze your lime slice into your drink, and drop it into your margarita, stir, and Enjoy!
- 6. Trivia: Did you know that the old-fashioned bowl-shaped margarita glasses are hard to find anymore. So if you run across any at flea markets, they are good to collect. I have about 30 and they are beautiful.
SNEAK-UP MARGARITA
I love a good margarita and this one is quite tasty. A very relaxing drink. A bartender told me what the basic ingredients are in one. After a few tries I finally came up with the right amounts of the ingredients to suit my taste You can't taste the tequila in it, so be careful. A beer afterwards or a second margarita may make the drink sneak up on you, Hence the name. You may add more tequila for a stronger drink.

Steps:
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, lime juice, Simple Syrup and orange liqueur. Cover and shake until mixed and chilled, about 30 seconds. (In general, the drink is ready by the time the shaker mists up.) Place Lime-salt-sugar on a plate. Press the rim of a chilled rocks or wine glass into the mixture to rim the edge. Strain margarita into the glass.
- Put the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. (Alternatively, heat in the microwave.) Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
- Blend together lime, salt and sugar in a small blender or mini food chopper.

- Strawberry Margarita. Let’s kick things off with this highly refreshing strawberry margarita. If you love the one they serve at Texas Roadhouse, this copycat is a must-try.
- Mango Margarita. I’m such a sucker for sweet ripe mangoes, so this margarita is a personal favorite. It’s almost like drinking a mango slushy, but with a boozy twist.
- Jalapeno Margarita. How about a spicy kick? This jalapeno margarita will definitely liven up your Cinco de Mayo celebration. It’s spicy, but not too much that it becomes unpleasant.
- Watermelon Margaritas. Tequila, lime juice, and watermelon: these are all you’ll need to make this sweet and refreshing concoction. Unlike a classic margarita, this one skips out on the orange liqueur.
- Blackberry Margarita. Start your weekend right with this boozy blackberry drink. After a week of hard work, you definitely deserve it! If you’re worried this recipe will only result in that overly sweet, pre-mixed blackberry margarita you’ve had at a random bar, don’t.
- Grapefruit Margarita. As I’ve earlier mentioned, other citrus fruits can be used to substitute limes in making margaritas. Grapefruit juice is sweeter, which does wonders in toning down the bitter flavors of tequila.
- Italian Margarita. Want a unique spin on the classic? Give the Mexican favorite an Italian twist! The Italian margarita is made with tequila, fresh lime, and some type of Italian liqueur such as limoncello or amaretto.
- Roasted Tomato Margarita. Roasted tomatoes in a margarita? It sounds strange, but it works. A blend of tomato juice, lime juice, and tequila, think of it as a cross between a margarita and a Bloody Mary!
- Fizzy Lime Margarita. This one’s a lot similar to the classic, but with a fizzy spin. The addition of club soda gives this margarita a bubbly and foamy feel.
- Pineapple Margarita. Give your margarita a sweet tropical flavor! All you’ll need is pineapple. I just love how bright this sunny drink is! Both its color and flavor are perfect for the summer.
