This vanilla energy smoothie is creamy, lightly fruity, and packed with protein! It's the perfect healthy breakfast or post-workout snack.

1 cup frozen pineapple
1 banana (room temperature)
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1/2 cup milk (or almond milk or oat milk)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 ice cubes
Garnish: we used toasted coconut and fresh raspberries

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in a blender, breaking the bananas into pieces. Blend until smooth.
  • Serve immediately or store in a covered jar in the refrigerator for 2 days.

A quick, easy and surprisingly delicious vegan pick-me-up that makes the most of raw superfoods and protein-rich soy. I make one of these healthy treats for myself every morning for breakfast, and it powers me all the way until lunch. I love the mild sweetness of the banana, but if you want it sweeter you could add sugar. I've also added different things like fresh ginger, cinnamon, apple, or any number of other things. Raw vegans can substitute raw almond milk for the soy. Feel free to experiment with different flavors, and enjoy the pure energy that comes from eating delicious and good-for-you food!

1 cup loosely packed kale
2 tablespoons powdered peanut butter, such as PB2
1 scoop protein powder
1 ripe banana
1 cup ice

  • Combine the almond milk, kale, powdered peanut butter, protein powder, banana and ice in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

1 package vanilla flavored protein powder (I like meta-rex)
1 cup skim milk
1 banana
1 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
4 ice cubes

Steps:

  • In a blender, blend together the protein whey and milk until it looks thick.
  • Add the bananna, strawberries and rasberries.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Add ice and blend until it reaches a constistance you like.

1 1/2 cups fresh orange juice
1 banana, peeled, cut into 2-inch pieces
1/2 cup (packed) coarsely chopped kale leaves, center stalk and stem removed
1/2 kiwi, peeled
2 pitted medjool dates, coarsely chopped
Test kitchen tip: Freeze the banana for a colder, thicker beverage.

Steps:

  • Combine orange juice, banana, chopped kale, kiwi, and chopped dates in blender. Puree until smooth, stopping and scraping down sides of blender as needed. Divide between two 12-ounce glasses and serve.
