RED CLOVER VITAMIN TONIC



Red Clover Vitamin Tonic image

The blossoms of red clover are delicious, as any honeybee will demonstrate. This little wildflower makes a superlative tea, tasty and nutrient-rich by itself or combined with oats, nettle, violet, and mint, as in this tonic.

Yield Makes 1 quart

Number Of Ingredients 5

3 teaspoons red-clover flowers/leaves
2 teaspoons oats, milky green tops (or oatstraw)
1 teaspoon nettle leaf
1 teaspoon violet leaves
2 teaspoons peppermint or spearmint

Steps:

  • Pour 1 quart boiling water over herbs; cover and steep for 15 to 20 minutes. Sweeten with honey if desired. Drink 2 to 3 cups daily for tonic benefits.
