This was on the back of the cereal box! It was so yummy, didn't want to lose the recipe, so I will enter it here for safekeeping!

5 cups frosted mini wheats bite size size cereal
1 1/2 cups small pretzels
1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts
2 tablespoons margarine
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
1 cup raisins

Steps:

  • In medium bowl, measure mini wheats, pretzels, and peanuts; set aside.
  • In a large microwave safe bowl, heat margarine, corn syrup, and peanut butter on HIGH for 30 seconds.
  • Stir until smooth.
  • Add cereal mixture and toss gently until evenly coated.
  • Microwave on HIGH a total of 5 minutes, stirring well after 2 and 4 minutes
  • (use caution, mixture will be hot).
  • Remove cereal mixture from microwave and mix in raisins (use caution, mixture will be hot).
  • Spread on waxed paper-lined baking sheet.
  • When completely cool, store in airtight container.
  • Variations:
  • PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY: Prepare as above through step 3.
  • Remove from microwave and stir in raisins.
  • Sprinkle 1 tbsp dry regular strawberry gelatin over hot cereal mixture, tossing gently.
  • Spread on waxed paper-lined baking sheet.
  • When completely cooled store in airtight container.
  • TROPICAL FRUIT: Prepare as above through step 3, adding 2 tbsp sesame seeds with cereal.
  • Remove from microwave.
  • Omit raisins and stir in 1 package (7 oz) dried tropical fruit medley chopped fruit.
  • Spread on waxed paper-lined baking sheet.
  • When completely cooled, store in airtight container.

PRALINE CRUNCH

This crispy, crunchy, caramel Crispix snack mix is absolutely delicious and highly addictive!

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 c butter
2 1/4 c brown sugar
1/2 c corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 18 oz box Crispix cereal
1/2 lb pecan halves ((about 2 cups))

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 200°F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the cereal and pecans. Set aside.
  • In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar and corn syrup. Cook on medium-high heat until it comes to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat to low-medium and let the mixture boil for 5 minutes; remove from the heat.
  • Stir in the vanilla and salt.
  • Pour the mixture over the cereal and pecans and stir until the pieces are evenly coated, being careful not to crush the cereal.
  • Divide the mixture between two sheet pans* and spread out evenly.
  • Bake for 1 hour, stirring each pan of praline crunch every 15 minutes.
  • Let cool and store in an airtight container.

1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter or Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter & Honey
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
4 cups honey and nut breakfast cereal
1 cup mixed nuts
1 cup mini pretzels
Cayenne pepper, to taste (optional)

Steps:

  • HEAT oven to 350 degrees F. Line rimmed baking sheet with foil.
  • COMBINE butter, peanut butter, vanilla and cinnamon in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH (100% power) 35 to 45 seconds, stirring until well blended.
  • COMBINE cereal, mixed nuts and pretzels in large bowl. Pour butter mixture over cereal mixture. Toss well to coat. Spread mixture evenly on foiled baking sheet.
  • BAKE 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool. Sprinkle lightly with cayenne pepper, if desired. Toss. Store in resealable food storage bag.

Bake a crunchy snack mix just right for munching. This one has organic honey nut cereal, peanuts, peanut butter, pretzels, banana chips and chocolate-covered raisins.

1 cup pretzel sticks
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups honey-roasted peanuts
1 1/2 cups dried banana chips
1 cup chocolate-covered raisins or raisins

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, mix cereal and pretzels.
  • In 1-quart saucepan, heat peanut butter and butter to boiling, stirring occasionally; pour over cereal mixture. Toss until evenly coated. Spread in ungreased 13x9-inch pan.
  • Bake 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in peanuts. Spread on waxed paper to cool, about 1 hour.
  • Stir in banana chips and raisins. Store in airtight container.

2 tablespoons light corn syrup

  • 1. In medium bowl, measure KELLOGG'S MINI-WHEATS Frosted Bite Size cereal, pretzels and peanuts. Set aside.2. In large microwave-safe bowl, heat margarine, corn syrup and peanut butter on HIGH for 30 seconds. Stir until smooth. Add cereal mixture and toss gently until evenly coated. 3. Microwave on HIGH a total of 5 minutes, stirring well after 2 and 4 minutes. Use caution, mixture will be hot.4. Remove cereal mixture from microwave and mix in raisins. (Use caution, mixture will be hot.) Spread on waxed paper lined baking sheet. When completely cool, store in airtight container.CONVENTIONAL METHOD: In a medium bowl, combine cereal, pretzels and peanuts. In a medium saucepan, heat margarine, corn syrup and peanut butter until margarine is melted and mixture is smooth, stirring constantly. Pour over cereal mixture and toss gently until evenly coated. Transfer mixture to 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350: F about 12 minutes or until lightly toasted, stirring after 4 and 10 minutes baking. Use caution, mixture will be hot. Spread on waxed paper lined baking sheet. When completely cool, store in airtight container.

1 cup sesame seeds
1 cup pumpkin seeds
1 cup coconut
1 cup brazil nut, chopped
250 g ginger nuts
1/2 cup dried apricot, chopped
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
125 g butter

Steps:

  • Put sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, coconut and nuts in a fry pan and stir continuously over a low heat for 6-8 minutes until coconut is a light golden brown. Transfer to a large mixing bowl.
  • Crush biscuits in a food processor until they are a fine crumb.
  • Stir crumbs, apricot and ginger into the toasted nuts and seeds.
  • Put butter and condensed milk into a saucepan and stir over low heat until butter is melted. Pour over dry ingrediants and mix thoroughly.
  • Press mixture into a lightly greased shallow baking tin. Cover and refrigerate for one hour then remove and slice. Cover again and store in the fridge.

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups Cheerios
1 cup pecan halves
1 cup walnut halves
1 cup salted dry roasted peanuts
1 cup whole unblanched almonds

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, heat the brown sugar, corn syrup, butter and salt over medium heat for 5 minutes or until sugar is dissolved, stirring constantly., In a large heat-proof bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Pour hot syrup over cereal mixture; stir until well coated. Spread into greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake at 300° for 30 minutes or until crisp, stirring every 10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack until slightly firm.
