You can't go wrong with this recipe. The cheesy, butter bread is so simple to make but the taste is sinful. Plus it looks fantastic, and people just flock to it! It's better than the usual garlic bread with pasta, too. -Karen Grant, Tulare, California

1 round loaf sourdough bread (1 pound)
1 pound Monterey Jack cheese, sliced
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1-1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
Minced fresh chives, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Cut bread into 1-in. slices to within 1/2 in. of bottom of loaf. Repeat cuts in opposite direction. Insert cheese in cuts., Mix all remaining ingredients except chives; drizzle over bread. Wrap in foil; place on a baking sheet., Bake 20 minutes. Unwrap; bake until cheese is melted, about 10 minutes. If desired, sprinkle with chives.

½ cup butter, softened
¾ cup mayonnaise
1 bunch green onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 ¼ cups Parmesan cheese
1 ½ cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 (1 pound) loaf French bread, halved lengthwise

Steps:

  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Combine the butter, mayonnaise, green onions, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese in a large bowl. Cut each half of French bread into 4 pieces. Spread the cheese mixture evenly on the bread pieces.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8 minutes. Set the oven to broil; broil until hot and bubbly, about 2 additional minutes.

2 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (5 ounces each)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
4 teaspoons barbecue sauce
2 cooked bacon strips
1/4 cup shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 cup chopped tomato
1 teaspoon minced chives

Steps:

  • Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper. In a large skillet coated with cooking spray, cook chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side or until juices run clear. Transfer to a greased baking sheet. , Top each with barbecue sauce, bacon and cheese. Broil 3-4 in. from the heat for 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with tomato and chives.

Steps:

  • Mix all the ingredients together. Cut the french loaf lengthwise. Butter the bread lightly and place under broiler until it bubbles and is slightly brown. Then place the mixture on the top of each loaf and place under broiler until bubble and brown. Serve warm and enjoy all the wonderful calories.

3/4 cup prepared ranch salad dressing, with bacon
1 loaf unsliced French bread (1 lb.)
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine, melted
chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix together the cheese and salad dressing.
  • Slice the bread in half lengthwise; brush cut sides with butter.
  • Place slices of bread, cut side up, on a baking sheet.
  • Broil until golden brown.
  • Spread with cheese mixture.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until cheese melts.

1 cup butter, melted
1 cup white sugar
4 eggs
1 (15 ounce) can cream-style corn
½ (4 ounce) can chopped green chile peppers, drained
½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
4 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, beat together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Blend in cream corn, chiles, Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese.
  • In a separate bowl, stir together flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture to corn mixture; stir until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, until a toothpick inserted into center of the pan comes out clean.

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
30 ounces pillsbury refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (4-7 1/2 ounce cans)
1/2 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

Steps:

  • GREASE or spray 12-cup Bundt cake pan.
  • MIX granulated sugar & cinnamon in 1-gallon bag. Cut each biscuit into quarters. Shake quarters in bag to coat; place in pan. Mix melted butter & brown sugar; pour over biscuit pieces.
  • BAKE at 350'F for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 5 to 10 minutes. Turn pan upside down onto serving plate. Serve warm. (12 servings).
