1-3/4 cups packed brown sugar, divided
1 cup all-purpose flour
5 tablespoons baking cocoa, divided
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup evaporated milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon almond extract
1 package (4.67 ounces) mint Andes candies
1-3/4 cups boiling water
4 teaspoons instant coffee granules
Vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and maraschino cherries

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine 1 cup brown sugar, flour, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, combine the milk, butter and extracts. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle with candies., Combine the water, coffee granules and remaining brown sugar and cocoa; pour over batter (do not stir). Cover and cook on high for 4 to 4-1/2 hours or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Serve with ice cream, whipped cream and cherries.

1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons (1/4 stick) butter
2 tablespoons sugar, divided
1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
2 tablespoons sliced fresh mint leaves plus fresh mint sprigs for garnish
1 pint vanilla ice cream
10 chocolate-mint sandwich cookies, coarsely broken
1 pint green mint chocolate chip ice cream
Sweetened whipped cream

Steps:

  • Stir first 4 ingredients and 1 tablespoon sugar in heavy small saucepan over medium-high heat until chocolate is melted and smooth. Bring just to boil. Remove from heat. Add unsweetened chocolate and extract; stir until smooth. Set mint-fudge sauce aside.
  • Toss remaining 1 tablespoon sugar and sliced mint in small bowl. Set mint sugar aside.
  • Place small scoop of vanilla ice cream in each dish. Top with some broken cookies, then scoop of mint ice cream and more cookies. Drizzle 1 to 2 tablespoons warm sauce over each. Top with whipped cream. Garnish with mint sugar and mint sprigs.

1 package (11-1/2 ounces) milk chocolate chips
1/3 cup butter, cubed
4 eggs, separated
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
HOT FUDGE SAUCE:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • In a heavy saucepan, melt milk chocolate chips and butter over low heat. Cool slightly. Whisk in egg yolks. Add flour just until combined. In a small bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Fold into chocolate mixture until blended. Fold in almonds., Pour into a greased 10-in. pie plate or quiche dish. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack., For sauce, combine sugar, cocoa and cream in a saucepan until smooth. Add semisweet chips and butter. Cook and stir over low heat until chips and butter are melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla. , Cut cake into wedges; top with ice cream. Drizzle with warm sauce.

1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts, if desired
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1 3/4 cups very hot water
Ice cream, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Mix flour, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, the baking powder and salt in ungreased square pan, 9x9x2 inches. Mix in milk, oil and vanilla with fork until smooth. Stir in nuts. Spread in pan.
  • Sprinkle brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa over batter. Pour water over batter.
  • Bake about 40 minutes or until top is dry.
  • Spoon warm cake into dessert dishes. Top with ice cream. Spoon sauce from pan onto each serving.
