A homemade barbecue sauce tops these moist, tender chops from David Bray of Hoover, Alabama. "We like to use the microwave and love this recipe because it's so quick and easy to prepare."

6 boneless pork loin chops (4 ounces each and 1/2-inch thick)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup chopped celery
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon cold water

Steps:

  • Place pork chops in an ungreased 11x7-in. microwave-safe dish. , In a large bowl, combine the next nine ingredients. Pour over the chops. Cover with plastic wrap; peel back one corner to vent. Microwave on high for 11-13 minutes or until juices run clear. Remove chops; set aside and keep warm. , In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth. Stir into barbecue sauce. Microwave for 30-45 seconds or until thickened. Serve sauce over chops.

8 lean pork chops
½ cup ketchup
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon celery seed
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
⅓ cup distilled white vinegar
1 cup water
1 bay leaf

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • In a skillet, heat a small amount of oil and brown both sides of the pork chops.
  • In a bowl combine ketchup, salt, celery seed, nutmeg, vinegar, water, and bay leaf; Pour over chops.
  • Bake in oven for 90 minutes. Turn chops once during baking.

The best compliment a cook can receive is to be asked for the recipe of a dish she's just served. That's happened almost every time I've made these pork chops for friends. The sauce gives them a great barbecue flavor.

2 cups soy sauce
1 cup water
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon dark molasses
6 pork chops (1 to 1-1/2 inches thick)
SAUCE:
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon water
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard

Steps:

  • In a saucepan, combine the soy sauce, water, brown sugar and molasses; bring to a boil. Remove from the heat and allow to cool. Pour into a shallow glass container or large resealable plastic bag; add pork chops and turn to coat. Cover or seal and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Drain, discarding marinade; place chops in a shallow ungreased baking pan. Cover and bake at 375° for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil, stirring until smooth. Brush over both sides of the chops. Bake, uncovered, 30 minutes longer or until pork is no longer pink and glaze is lightly browned.

3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon sage
1 onion, sliced
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup milk (or more to thin sauce)
2 teaspoons beef bouillon
2 tablespoons A.1. Original Sauce
1/4 cup parsley, chopped

Steps:

  • Slash edges of pork chops.
  • Combine flour and sage.
  • Dredge chops in flour.
  • Place in casserole with tenderloin inside.
  • Top with onion.
  • Whisk soup, milk, bouillon, steak sauce and remaining flour until smooth.
  • Pour over chops, coating all.
  • Cover and microwave at 30% for 15 minutes.
  • Turn and rearrange chops and push beneath sauce.
  • Cover and microwave 15 more minutes at 30%, then let stand for 10 minutes.
  • Skim off excess fat and serve.
