MARIE'S MAGIC FRUIT COBBLER



Marie's Magic Fruit Cobbler image

A fruit cobbler using tinned fruit. Very quick and very nice. This is another of my wifes recipes, i know not where they come from but they are all very nice.

1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup sugar or 1/2 cup Splenda granular
3/4 cup milk
1 cup flour
15 ounces fruit cocktail or 15 ounces peaches, drained

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in a 9"x15" pan.
  • Mix the baking powder, milk, flour and sugar together.
  • Pour on top of the melted butter, don't stir.
  • Pour the fruit on top of the batter, don't stir.
  • Bake at 350º F for 30 min or until light brown on top.

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
4 cups sliced, peeled peaches

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2. Melt butter in a 2-quart baking dish. Combine flour, sugar, milk and vanilla. Pour over butter. Do not stir. 3. Spoon peaches over batter. Do not stir. Bake about 40 minutes.

4 cups frozen cherries, thawed
2 cups sugar, divided
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup self-rising flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup cocoa
1 cup 2% low-fat milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine cherries and 1 cup sugar in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves and cherries release their juices, and the liquid thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
  • Pour melted butter into a 2-qt baking dish.
  • Combine remaining sugar, flour, salt, and cocoa. Stir in milk until well combined. Do not overbeat. Pour over butter; do not stir. Spoon cherries and juice over the batter. Do not stir.
  • Bake 35 minutes, or until crust rises to the top and browns.
