HOT PEPPER CHEESE BITES



Hot Pepper Cheese Bites image

These baked cheese balls have a pleasing dose of cumin-and-hot pepper flavor.

1 1/3 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese (2 oz)
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened, cut up
1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper sauce, as desired
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F. Line large cookie sheet with cooking parchment paper.
  • In medium bowl, beat all ingredients except parsley on medium speed until smooth. Stir in parsley. On lightly floured surface, knead dough 10 to 12 times; shape into ball.
  • Roll into 24 balls, using about 2 teaspoons dough per ball; place on cookie sheet 1 1/2 inches apart.
  • Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown and set. Serve warm.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, at room temperature
1 ½ cups shredded extra-sharp Cheddar cheese, divided
1 cup shredded pepper Jack cheese
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
¼ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup spicy cheese-flavored cornmeal snack (such as Cheetos® Flamin' Hot)

Steps:

  • Beat cream cheese, 1 cup Cheddar cheese, pepper Jack, mayonnaise, Worcestershire, hot sauce, parsley, onion powder, and garlic powder with an electric mixer on low speed until creamy, about 1 minute. Beat in remaining 1/2 cup Cheddar until just combined, about 15 seconds.
  • Place a large piece of plastic wrap on a clean work surface. Place cheese mixture in the center of the plastic wrap. Pull up edges of the plastic wrap to shape the mixture into a ball. Refrigerate until firm, at least 1 hour or overnight.
  • Crush snack chips and place in a shallow dish. Unwrap the cheese ball and roll in crushed chips, pressing gently to coat. Serve immediately.

10 banana peppers
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 large egg
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped pepperoni
2 tablespoons olive oil

Steps:

  • Cut peppers in half lengthwise; open and lay flat. Remove seeds if desired. In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and egg until blended. Stir in the cheddar, mozzarella, onion and pepperoni. Spoon into peppers., Place in two 15x10x1-in. baking pans and drizzle with oil. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded monterey jack pepper cheese
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, stir together all 4 cheeses, onion powder, garlic powder, mayonnaise and worcestershire sauce.
  • Cover and refrigerate mixture for at least 1 hour.
  • Shape mixture into ball.
  • Roll ball in chopped pecans.
  • Cook time is refrigeration time.

1/4 cup shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese
3 to 4 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro

1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon dried minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
Assorted crackers

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, beat cream cheese. Add the cheese, cilantro, onion, chili powder. garlic. garlic salt. oregano, red pepper flakes, cumin and hot pepper sauce. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. , Shape into a ball. Roll in parsley. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Serve with crackers.
