Guacamole with Aleppo Pepper

Yield Makes about 3 cups

Number Of Ingredients 11

3 avocados, roughly chopped
2 to 3 tablespoons lime juice
2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic, poached in hot water for 2 minutes and minced
1 to 2 jalapeño peppers (depending on heat), stemmed, seeded, and minced
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 cup finely chopped red onion, rinsed in cool water and drained
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon Aleppo pepper, plus more for garnish
1/4 cup chopped cilantro

Steps:

  • Combine first 10 ingredients in a bowl and mash with a fork. Taste and adjust seasoning. Fold in the cilantro, sprinkle with additional Aleppo, and serve.

3 avocados - peeled, pitted, and mashed
1 lime, juiced
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup diced onion
3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
2 roma (plum) tomatoes, diced
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 pinch ground cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mash together the avocados, lime juice, and salt. Mix in onion, cilantro, tomatoes, and garlic. Stir in cayenne pepper. Refrigerate 1 hour for best flavor, or serve immediately.

4 tablespoons finely chopped onion, divided
3 tablespoons minced seeded jalapeno pepper
1 tablespoon minced seeded serrano pepper
2 to 3 teaspoons chopped chipotle pepper in adobo sauce
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 medium ripe avocados, peeled and cubed
1/3 cup finely chopped tomatoes
Tortilla chips

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine 3 tablespoons cilantro, 2 tablespoons onion, peppers, garlic and salt; mash together with a fork. Stir in avocados; fold in tomatoes and remaining cilantro and onion. Serve immediately with chips.
