This gooey cinnamon pull apart recipe will impress everyone in your family! It is an easy (and I mean EASY), fast, and tasty modification of my boyfriend's grandmother's monkey brain recipe. I use 6 small Bundt pans instead of one big one so the cinnamon balls are more gooey :)Fun to make and even more fun to eat!

3 (7.5 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough
⅓ cup white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
½ cup chopped pecans
½ cup butter, melted
½ cup brown sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 6 miniature Bundt pans.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the white sugar and cinnamon. Set aside. Use scissors or a knife to cut each of the biscuits into various sizes. Each one can be cut into anywhere from 2 to 5 pieces.
  • Sprinkle about half of the pecans amongst the 6 prepared pans. Roll pieces of biscuit in the cinnamon-sugar, and place them into the pans, distributing evenly. Sprinkle any remaining cinnamon-sugar over the dough balls.
  • Mix together the brown sugar and melted butter. Stir in the remaining pecans. Distribute evenly over the pans of dough balls. For ease of getting in and out of the oven, place all of the pans on a cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the biscuits are toasted and cooked through. Remove from the oven, and invert individual pans onto serving plates while still hot.

Super duper delicious and oh so easy. This recipe came from the Bread Machine Collection. I made these for a family dinner dessert and a 2nd batch for a savory roll for dinner. Very versatile and so light, it feels like eating a cloud. There are 3 posted toppings, but I have made other variations as well.

3 1/2 cups bread flour (I used all purpose)
2 teaspoons yeast (active or rapid rise)
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
6 tablespoons butter (melted) or 6 tablespoons margarine (melted)
2/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 1/2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
6 tablespoons butter (melted) or 6 tablespoons margarine (melted)
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
6 tablespoons butter (melted) or 6 tablespoons margarine (melted)
3/4 cup brown sugar (I double this as we like them gooey)
1 teaspoon cinnamon (I double this as well)

Steps:

  • Place room temperature ingredients in bread machine according to your manufacturer's manual.
  • Select dough cycle (I do this 2 times for fluffier rolls).
  • Remove dough to lightly floured surface and roll into 20-inch long roll.
  • Divide dough into 16-20 pieces and roll into balls.
  • Dip each ball in melted butter or margarine.
  • Roll in selected topping. (see below).
  • Place in casserole dish.
  • Let rise additional 30 minutes or double in size.
  • Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes.
  • Remove and cool 10 minutes.
  • Tip out of pan onto pretty serving platter and watch everyone enjoy.
  • Cooking time includes ABM dough cycle, rising time, and oven time.
  • For toppings: Blend dry ingredients together in a bowl for rolling dough after dipped in melted butter.

3/4 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup butter, divided
1/3 cup maple-flavored or pancake syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 cans (12 oz. each) refrigerated flaky buttermilk biscuits
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, cut into 20 cubes

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F.
  • Sprinkle nuts onto bottom of 12-cup fluted pan or 10-inch tube pan sprayed with cooking spray. Melt 2 Tbsp. butter in small microwaveable bowl. Stir in syrup; drizzle over nuts in pan.
  • Melt remaining butter. Mix sugar and cinnamon in shallow dish. Separate dough into 20 biscuits; flatten each to 1/4-inch thickness. Roll cream cheese cubes in cinnamon sugar until evenly coated; place 1 on center of each biscuit. Gather up sides of dough to enclose filling; press edges together to seal. Roll each into ball; dip top in remaining butter, then in remaining cinnamon sugar. Arrange half the balls, cinnamon sugar-sides up, in prepared pan. Repeat with remaining balls to form second layer. Top with any remaining butter and cinnamon sugar.
  • Bake 30 min. or until golden brown. Cool buns in pan 1 min.; invert onto serving plate. Remove pan. Top buns with any remaining nuts in pan; cool slightly.
