I double the recipe and put in a glass baking dish (9x13 inches). Nice for holidays . . . Keep it for a secret and family and friends will think you worked forever on it . . . (smiles). You can also use peanut butter chips and make peanut butter fudge.

Number Of Ingredients 4

3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
¼ cup butter
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Place chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter or margarine in large microwaveable bowl. Zap in microwave on medium until chips are melted, about 3-5 minute, stirring once or twice during cooking. Stir in nuts, if desired.
  • Pour into well-greased 8x8-inch glass baking dish. Refrigerate until set.

This is a favorite recipe that has been in our family for over 20 years. My aunt taught me how to make it when I was 12 years old and I am still making it today. -Jhana Seidler, Venice, Florida

Yield 2 pounds (81 pieces).

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 teaspoon plus 1/4 cup butter, divided
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup 2% milk
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Line a 9-in. square pan with foil; grease foil with 1 teaspoon butter., In a large heavy saucepan, combine sugars, milk, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a rapid boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook, without stirring, until a candy thermometer reads 234° (soft-ball stage). Remove from heat. Add vanilla and remaining butter to pan (do not stir)., Cool, without stirring, to 110°, about 40 minutes. Beat with a spoon until fudge just begins to thicken. Add walnuts; continue beating until fudge becomes very thick and just begins to lose its sheen (about 10 minutes total). Immediately spread into prepared pan. Cool., Using foil, lift fudge out of pan. Remove foil; cut fudge into 1-in. squares. Store between layers of waxed paper in airtight containers.

This is one of the drinks served at my Bon Voyage Party on my way to State Competition. It is super good, easy to serve and looks yummy. Our former state First Lady put the recipe in her cook book, Patsy Riley. Hope you like it.

1/2 gallon milk
1 1/2 cup(s) chocolate syrup
1/2 gallon ice cream, vanilla or chocolate
8 ounce(s) container of cool whip
- chocolate shavings
- toasted slivered almonds

Steps:

  • Mix first 4 ingredients together in punch bowl. Sprinkle with chocolate shavings and toasted slivered almonds. Get ready to make some more.

1 (2 liter) bottle ginger ale

  • In a large container, mix together sugar, cranberry juice, pineapple juice and almond extract. Refrigerate for 1 day.
  • To serve, pour juice mixture into a punch bowl. Stir in ginger ale.
