HAMBURGER FOIL PACKETS ("HOBO DINNER")
These hamburger foil packets (aka "hobo dinner") are the ultimate campfire comfort food. They are a wonderful summer dinner you can cook on the grill, open fire or even in the oven!

- Combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce and seasoning in a bowl. Mix well and shape into 6 evenly-sized patties.
- Divide potatoes and carrots between 6 large pieces of lightly oiled heavy-duty aluminum foil. Season with salt, pepper, dried parsley and garlic powder.
- Place hamburger patties on vegetables, then top with sliced onions and mushrooms. Season with more salt/pepper/parsley/garlic. Generously drizzle with olive oil, then seal foil packets.
- Grill packets over medium heat, OR cook on hot campfire coals, 15 to 20 minutes per side. Alternatively, bake packets on a baking sheet at 375°F for 45-60 minutes, or until beef patties are done.
BURGER AND VEGGIE FOIL PACKS

Steps:
- Heat oven to 450°. Cut four 18x12-inch sheets of aluminum foil.
- Mix beef, Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic-pepper blend, the onion powder and salt. Shape mixture into 4 patties, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Place 1 patty on each foil sheet about 2 inches from 12-inch side. Top each with 1/2 cup vegetables and 8 steak fries. Place 1 piece of corn next to each patty. Divide remaining 1/2 teaspoon garlic-pepper blend among vegetables. Bring up 2 sides of foil so edges meet. Seal edges, making tight 1/2-inch fold; fold again, allowing space for heat circulation and expansion. Fold other sides to seal.Place packets on large cookie sheet.
- Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until meat thermometer inserted in center of patties reads 160°F. Place packets on plates. To serve, cut large X across top of each packet; carefully fold back foil.

TIN FOIL STEW
This recipe is great when camping, or at home. I used to make this with my Boy Scout troop. The recipe is for one serving, so adjust accordingly.

- On a large square sheet of foil, layer beef, potato cubes, carrots, onion and garlic. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, top with butter and a tablespoon of water.
- Roll edges of tin foil together and seal tightly.
- Bury it in campfire coals or put in a preheated oven at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). For either cooking method, cooking time is about 1 hour. You can eat it right out of the foil, or empty it into a dish.

FOIL PACK GROUND BEEF DINNER
Steps:
- Make 4 patties with the ground beef and place one in the center of each piece of aluminum foil. Split the A.1. steak sauce 4 ways and spoon equal amounts onto each beef patty. Slice each onion and put 1 onion on top of the sauce on each patty.
- Cut celery stalks into approx 1 inch pieces and use two stalks per patty, place celery on and around beef patty. Cube potatoes using 1 potato per patty and place potato cubes on and around beef patty. Leave baby carrots whole and put on aluminum foil with other ingredients. Season each pack with pepper to taste.
- Bring up foil sides. Double fold top and both ends to seal each packet, leaving room for heat circulation inside. This can be cooked on the grill or in the oven.
- Oven instructions: Place packs directly on oven rack in a preheated 400 degree oven. Cook for 1 hour. Remove from oven and place directly on plate, cut slit in top to release steam before opening.
- Grill instructions: Place packs on grill over medium heat. Close lid of grill and cook for approximately 45 minutes. Remove from grill and place directly on plate, cut slit in top to release steam before opening.
