THE ELVIS SANDWICH

The Elvis Sandwich image

Elvis Presley's favourite sandwich is officially the sandwich you never knew you needed!

Provided by Chris

Categories     Brunch     lunch

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 medium slices of Bread
4-6 slices of American/Streaky Bacon ((2-3 per sandwich))
4 heaped tbsp Peanut Butter ()
2 Bananas, (sliced into small chunks (enough to cover the sandwich))
Butter, (as needed)

Steps:

  • Add bacon to a large non-stick pan and fry over medium heat until both sides are crispy and the fat has rendered down. Remove bacon and leave the fat behind (discard some if more than 1tbsp or so).
  • Lightly butter one side of each slice of bread. Flip them over so they're butter-side-down. Spread peanut butter over all four slices, then top two of them with banana then bacon. Place the other slice on top butter-side-up.
  • Add to the pan with the leftover bacon fat and fry both sides over medium heat until golden, with the peanut butter just starting to leak out. Serve up and enjoy!
