DETOX IMMUNE BOOSTING VEGETABLE HERB BROTH



Detox Immune Boosting Vegetable Herb Broth image

This healthy immune boosting broth is easy to make and so delicious! Perfect for when you feel a cold coming on.

Number Of Ingredients 11

64 ounce low sodium vegetable broth
3 garlic cloves (peeled)
1 1-inch piece of fresh turmeric, peeled
1 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled
3 sprigs fresh oregano
3 sprigs fresh thyme
3 sprigs fresh sage
1 lemon (cut in four pieces)
2 teaspoon whole peppercorns
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (see note)
Sea salt to taste

Steps:

  • In a large pot, bring all of the ingredients to a boil and reduce the heat to simmer. Cook for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Strain the broth into a large bowl or container with a fine mesh strainer. This will separate the solid ingredients from the broth.
  • Enjoy!

1 large chopped onion
6 chopped carrots
1/2 head chopped celery
1 halved head garlic
2 chopped large sweet potatoes
12 cups water
4 cups spinach
1 bunch fresh parsley
Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • In a large pot, cover onion, carrots, celery, garlic, and sweet potatoes with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Add spinach and parsley and simmer 5 minutes more. Season with salt and pepper. Strain liquid; discard vegetables.

3 quarts water
1 large onion, chopped
2 carrots, sliced
1 cup winter squash, cut into large cubes
1 cup parsnips or 1 cup rutabaga, for sweetness
2 cups chopped greens (kale, parsley, beet greens, collard greens, chard, dandelion)
2 celery ribs
1/2 cup cabbage
4 slices fresh ginger
2 whole garlic cloves (not chopped or crushed)
sea salt (to taste)

Steps:

  • Add all the ingredients at once and place on a low boil for approximately 60 minutes. It may take a little longer. Simply continue to boil to taste.
  • Cool, strain (throw out the cooked vegetables), and store in a large, tightly-sealed glass container in the fridge.
  • Heat gently and drink up to 3 to 4 cups a day.
