CHEESY CHICKEN CRESCENT BAKE

This is a classic family recipe. My mom used to make this and my kids love it. You can switch up the filling ingredients and make it your own!

Number Of Ingredients 11

5 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 cup butter, room temperature
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
3 cups cooked, cubed chicken (or Rotisserie)
3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick spray. Set aside.
  • Prepare the filling. In a large bowl combine the cream cheese, butter, garlic powder, and seasoned salt stirring until smooth. Add in the chicken and cheddar cheese, mixing until incorporated. Add in the heavy cream and stir until combined.
  • Open the cans of crescent rolls. Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling onto the larger end of each crescent roll. Roll up and pinch the dough closed, sealing in the chicken mixture. Place seam side down in the prepared baking dish.
  • To prepare the sauce combine the cream of chicken soup, cheddar cheese, heavy cream, and seasoned salt in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently until warm and smooth. Pour the sauce evenly over the crescent rolls. Top with the remaining 1 cup grated cheese.
  • Bake for 30 minutes until the rolls are baked and the mixture is bubbly.
  • Serve immediately.

I got this recipe from a friend at work. We were eating lunch one day and they had this. It was leftovers from the night before but they looked so good that I had to try them. I'm sure you could use that leftover turkey from Thanksgiving also. Enjoy!

2 can(s) (8 oz. each) of crescent rolls
3 - boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
16 ounce(s) cheddar cheese, shredded
2 can(s) cream of chicken soup
2 cup(s) milk
- * optional* for a creamer filling you can add some room temputure cream cheese to the filling.

Steps:

  • Boil chicken and cool. Shred chicken finely by hand.
  • Place soup, milk, and 1/4 cup of the cheese into a medium sized saucepan and heat on low, until cheese is melted. *This is where you can add some cream cheese.* Add the chicken to the soup mixture.
  • Place a small about of mixture in bottom of ungreased 9 x 13 baking dish.
  • Unroll crescent rolls into individual triangles. Fill larger edge with a scoop of shredded chicken, soup and cheese mixture. Roll from long side toward tip of triangle.
  • Arrange each crescent in pan seam side down. Pour remaining sauce over top of crescents. Bake uncovered for 30 min., or until golden on top. Sprinkle cheese on top and cook for 5 min. more.

3 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
salt and ground black pepper to taste
2 (8 ounce) packages crescent roll dough, unrolled and divided into triangles
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup milk
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat a large skillet over medium heat; pan-fry chicken until no longer pink in the center, about 10 minutes per side. Shred chicken.
  • Spread chicken over crescent roll triangles. Roll triangles, starting with the wider end, around chicken. Arrange rolls on prepared baking dish with the seam sides down. Place rolls into prepared baking dish.
  • Mix cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, milk, and Cheddar cheese in a bowl; pour mixture over crescent rolls.
  • Bake in preheated oven until bubbly and rolls are golden brown, about 40 minutes.

8 ounces refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1 (4 ounce) package cream cheese
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup celery, chopped
1 cup chopped cooked chicken breast
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Unroll the crescent rolls and place on the bottom of an ungreased cookie sheet to form an 11 x 7 inch sheet.
  • Press the perforations together to seal. In a medium-sized bowl, make a chicken salad by combining the cream cheese, mayonnaise, celery, chicken, salt and pepper.
  • Spread the chicken salad lengthwise down the middle third of the crescent roll dough. With a pair of scissors, cut the remaining dough into one inch wide strips, being careful not to cut into the chicken salad.
  • Fold the strips criss-cross style over the chicken salad. Bake in a 400°F oven until golden brown, between 15 to 20 minutes. Brush with melted margarine, cut into slices and serve hot.

1 celery rib, sliced
3 tablespoons butter, divided
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
2/3 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons dried minced onion
3 cups cubed cooked chicken
1 can (8 ounces) sliced water chestnuts, drained
1 jar (4-1/2 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained
2/3 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
1/2 cup sliced almonds

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, saute celery in 1 tablespoon butter until tender. Stir in the soup, mayonnaise, sour cream, onion, chicken, water chestnuts and mushrooms. Cook and stir over medium heat just until mixture begins to boil. Transfer to an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese. , Unroll crescent roll dough into a rectangle; seal seams and perforations. Place over cheese. Melt the remaining butter; toss with nuts and sprinkle over top. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

1 cup shredded cooked chicken
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
2/3 cup condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted

  • Separate crescent dough into eight triangles. Combine the chicken and 2 tablespoons cheese; place about 2 tablespoonfuls on the wide end of each triangle.
