Charleston Chewies
Ingredients
1 stick butter or margarine
1 pound (1 box) dark brown sugar
3 eggs
1 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

Cream the butter and sugar. Beat in the 3 eggs until fluffy. Add the flour, salt and baking powder. Add the vanilla and the chopped nuts last. Place in a 9-by-13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cut into squares or bars.

cooking spray, for greasing the pan
4 large eggs
1 (16 ounce) box dark brown sugar
2 1/2 cups sifted self rising flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or 1 cup pecans
sifted powdered sugar, for dusting

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350.
Grease a 13x9 inch pan.
In a large mixing bowl mix the eggs,brown sugar,flour and vanilla together with mixer on low speed until well blended.
Fold in the nuts.
Pour the batter into prepared pan.
Bake until golden brown on top,about 25 minutes.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Cool.
Cut into squares.
