3 pounds ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
2 medium green peppers, chopped
3 celery ribs, chopped
3 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
2 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 cans (16 ounces each) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) fire-roasted diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed tomato soup, undiluted
Hot cooked rice

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, cook the beef, onions, peppers and celery over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the Cajun seasoning, chili powder and pepper; cook 2 minutes longer., Save 4 cups for

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup chopped white onion
2 cups beef broth
1 1/2-2 teaspoons cajun seasoning (I used Low-Sodium Cajun Seasoning)
1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans, drained
1 cup white rice (NOT instant)

Steps:

  • In a medium sized skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and onion until meat is lightly browned.
  • Drain grease from meat and onion,return to skillet.
  • Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil over high heat.
  • After reaching a rolling boil,cover with lid and cook on low for 25 minutes.

I make this recipe for my husband for lunch. He loves the Cajun Style Sausage and Rice, however it plays havoc on his stomach at times but I found this recipe doesn't do that and he enjoys it almost as much. If you like cheese it also tastes very good with some sprinkled on the top after you remove it from the oven.

1 cup uncooked white rice
2 cups water
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 (15 ounce) can red beans, drained and rinsed
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning

Steps:

  • Bring the rice and water to a boil in a saucepan over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until the rice is tender, and the liquid has been absorbed, 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and stir in the ground beef. Cook and stir until the beef is crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink. Drain and discard any excess grease. Add chopped onion to beef and cook and stir for 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in the cooked rice, beans, tomatoes, and Cajun seasoning. Pour into a casserole dish.
  • Cover and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes until hot, stirring once.

2 pounds ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 garlic clove, minced
1 can (15 ounces) pinto beans, undrained
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 to 2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, cook the beef, onion, green pepper and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. , Meanwhile, in a blender or food processor, process beans with liquid until smooth. Stir the beans and remaining ingredients into beef mixture. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 35-45 minutes.
