  • Combine 4 cups tomato juice, 2 tablespoons horseradish, 4 dashes Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon ketchup, the juice of 1 lemon, a few shakes of hot sauce and some pepper in a pitcher. Stir in 1 cup tequila or mezcal and chill until ready to serve. Pour into six ice-filled glasses. Garnish with lemon wedges and/or celery sticks.

Two 28-ounce cans crushed San Marzano tomatoes
12 ounces tequila
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 to 2 tablespoons hot sauce, such as Tabasco, or more as desired
Juice of 3 lemons
Celery stalks, beef jerky, pickled string beans, pickled carrots and pickled radish slices, for garnish

Steps:

  • Add the tomatoes, tequila, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce and lemon juice to a blender. Blend until fully combined, then adjust the heat as desired. Pour into ice-filled glasses. Garnish with the celery stalks and skewers of beef jerky, pickled string beans, pickled carrots and pickled radishes.

1 slice of whole wheat bread
2 garlic cloves
1 teaspoons coarse salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
2 lb ripe tomatoes, cored and quartered
2 tablespoons mild extra-virgin olive oil
4 tablespoons Gold's white horseradish (or to taste)
1/2 red pepper, diced
1/2 yellow pepper, diced
1 small Persian cucumber, diced
2 stalks of celery (inner more tender pieces), diced
1/4 red onion, finely diced
1/2 jalapeno, finely diced (optional)
2 shots of vodka (optional)

Steps:

  • Soak bread in 1/2 cup water 1 minute, then squeeze dry, discarding water. Chop garlic with the salt and mash with the back of your knife to turn it into a sort of paste. Place garlic paste in food processor with bread, sugar, celery salt and worcestershire sauce and half of tomatoes. Process until finely chopped, add remaining tomatoes and with motor running, gradually add oil in a slow stream, blending until as smooth as possible, about 1 minute. Force soup through a sieve into a bowl, pressing firmly on solids. Discard solids. Transfer to a glass container and chill, covered, until cold, about 3 hours. Once chilled, add horseradish and finely chopped vegetables. Season with salt and extra horseradish to taste before serving. Enjoy the taste of a bloody mary in soup form.

3 lbs. yellow tomatoes, peeled and cut into large pieces
1 or 2 green jalapeno peppers, stem removed and cut into large pieces
1 lemon, cut into wedges
1 oz. fennel spice rub
6 fennel fronds
gray sea salt

Steps:

  • In a stainless steel mixing bowl, toss the tomatoes with a little gray salt followed by the jalapeno pepper. Juice the mixture through a juice extractor (such as a Juiceman) then pour the mixture into a pitcher. Refrigerate. This can be done up to six hours before serving.
  • Rub the top rims of the glasses with a lemon wedge, and dip the rims in a saucer filled with the fennel spice. The spice will cling to the rim of the glass and flavor the drink as you sip. Fill the glasses with ice. Pour the tomato juice into each glass about an inch from the top. Garnish each with a fennel frond.

1 English hothouse cucumber, peeled, chopped (about 2 cups)
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro leaves
4 teaspoons prepared horseradish
4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons celery salt
12 dashes of hot pepper sauce
Ice cubes
2 cups vodka
1 English hothouse cucumber, halved crosswise, then quartered lengthwise

Steps:

  • Working in batches, puree first 8 ingredients in blender until smooth. Transfer Bloody Mary mix to large pitcher; season with pepper. Chill until cold, at least 1 hour.
  • For each drink, fill 8-ounce highball glass with ice cubes; pour 1/4 cup vodka over. Add Bloody Mary mix; garnish with cucumber spear.
