4 flour tortillas (10 inches), warmed
1 carton (8 ounces) spreadable chive and onion cream cheese
1 cup shredded carrots
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 pound thinly sliced cooked roast beef
Leaf lettuce

Steps:

  • Spread 1 side of each tortilla with cream cheese; layer with the carrots, Monterey Jack cheese, beef and lettuce. Roll up tightly and cover. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Cut in half or into 1-in. slices.

1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
3 cups frozen chopped broccoli
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tubes (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent rolls

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat 6-8 minutes or until beef is no longer pink, breaking up beef into crumbles; drain. Stir in broccoli, cheese, sour cream, salt and pepper; heat through. , Unroll 1 tube of crescent dough onto a greased baking sheet; form into a 12x8-in. rectangle, pressing perforations to seal. Spoon half of the beef mixture lengthwise down center of rectangle., On each long side, cut 1-in.-wide strips at an angle, about 3 in. into the center. Fold 1 strip from each side over filling and pinch ends together; repeat., Repeat with remaining ingredients to make second braid. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
3/4 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
FILLING:
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 can (16 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
2/3 cup water
2 tablespoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1-1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 large egg, lightly beaten

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the butter, sugar, salt, egg and 1-1/2 cups flour; beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. , Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook the beef, onion and garlic salt over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the beans, water and seasonings; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5-10 minutes or until thickened., Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; roll into a 16x11-in. rectangle. Transfer to a greased 15x10-in. baking sheet. Spread beef mixture down center of dough; sprinkle with cheese. On each long side, cut 1-in.-wide strips about 1/2 in. from filling. Starting at one end, fold alternating strips at an angle across filling; seal ends. Cover and let rise until doubled, 30 minutes. , Brush egg over dough. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to a wire rack. Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.

1 cup cubed process American cheese (Velveeta)

1 teaspoon olive oil
1 (1 pound) loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 teaspoon oregano
garlic salt to taste
1 large egg, beaten
1 teaspoon freshly grated Parmesan cheese
coarse salt

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Rub bread dough with olive oil on all sides and place between 2 pieces of parchment paper. Roll dough into an 8x12-inch rectangle.
  • Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, make 7 cuts on a slight angle down towards the middle of the dough. Repeat on the other side, leaving about 4 inches in the middle for the filling.
  • Mix together mozzarella cheese, butter, oregano, and garlic salt in a bowl for the filling. Spread filling down along the middle of the dough.
  • Starting at the bottom, take the right strip and gently pull up towards the middle; then take the left and pinch together with the folded right strip. Repeat with all the dough strips.
  • Brush braid with beaten egg and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and coarse salt. Transfer braid onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 loaf unsliced French bread
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Steps:
