ULTIMATE CHEESE TOAST

Steps:
- Preheat a broiler. Place the bread on a baking sheet and broil it 1 to 2 minutes per side, until lightly toasted.
- Spread the bread with a thin coating of mayonnaise, then Dijon mustard. Top with 1 pinch salt. Add the shredded cheese and sprinkle with oregano.
- Place the toast bake on the baking sheet. Broil again for about 1 to 2 minutes until the cheese is melted. Enjoy!

- Prepare French toast according to package directions. Place six slices in an ungreased 13x9-in. baking dish. Top with ham, 2 cups cheese and remaining French toast. - In a medium bowl, combine the Cheddar, Monterey Jack, mayonnaise, Parmesan, butter, salt, pepper and seasoned salt.
- Cut the loaf in half lengthwise, then into thirds or fourths. Evenly spread the cheese mixture onto the bread pieces. Wrap each piece in a foil "purse," leaving a little room at the top between the cheese and the foil.
- The bread can either be frozen for later, or baked right away. If baking right away, place on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes. If cooking from frozen, bake on a baking sheet at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.

- In the top of a double boiler, combine the cream, cheddar, white pepper, and nutmeg.
- Stir over hot water until the cheese melts and the mixture is well blended.
- Remove from the heat and cool to lukewarm.
- Generously butter a large baking sheet and set aside.
- Cut the bread slices diagonally and dip each triangle into the cheddar mixture.
- Place 1/2-inch apart on the baking sheet and bake until browned and bubbly, about 15 minutes.

I often serve this cheddar bread along with bowls of steaming homemade soup. It helps warm my cattle-raiser husband and our two sons on chilly evenings up here in Canada. - Preheat oven to 375F and spray an 8x11-inch or similar-sized casserole or baking dish with cooking spray; set aside.
- Spread each of the 12 slices of bread evenly with cream cheese on one side of the bread. I used an averagely thick amount of cream cheese, but you can go thin or thick, depending on your preference. I find it easiest to do this on a clean countertop and just keep the bread on the counter.
- Briefly dunk each slice of bread in the milk mixture. You don't want it soaking wet or it will disintegrate. After dunking, I put each slice immediately in the prepared baking dish, with each successive sliced stacked next to it.
