6 bacon strips, halved lengthwise
12 breadsticks (about 5 inches long)

Steps:

  • Wrap a piece of bacon around each breadstick. Place on a rack in an ungreased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake at 375° for 20-25 minutes or until bacon is crisp.

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 tablespoons active dry yeast
2 cups warm milk (110° to 115°), divided
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
1-1/4 teaspoons salt, divided
5-1/2 to 6 cups all-purpose flour
1 pound sliced bacon, diced
1 medium onion, chopped
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 egg, beaten
Coarse salt

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in 1 cup warm milk. Add sugar; let stand for 5 minutes. Add butter, 1 teaspoon salt and remaining milk. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1-1/2 hours. , Meanwhile, in a large skillet, saute bacon and onion until bacon is crisp; drain. Add pepper and remaining salt. Cool completely. Punch dough down. Turn onto a floured surface; knead bacon mixture into dough. , Roll dough into a 14-in. square. Brush with egg; sprinkle with coarse salt. Cut dough in half lengthwise and in thirds widthwise. Cut each section into six strips. Place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes. , Bake at 375° for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.

2 green onions, finely chopped

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the biscuit mix, milk, cheese, onions and garlic powder. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead 8-10 times. , Roll into an 8-in. x 6-in. rectangle. 3/4 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water (110° to 115°)
1/2 cup warm 2% milk (110° to 115°)
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 large eggs, room temperature, divided use
1 tablespoon sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
3-1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons cold water
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 tablespoon poppy seeds

Steps:

  • In a small skillet, saute onion in oil until tender; cool. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the milk, butter, 1 egg, sugar, salt and 1 cup flour. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in onion and enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. , Punch dough down. Let stand for 10 minutes. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide into 32 pieces. Shape each piece into an 8-in. rope. Place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. 6 slices bacon
2 tablespoons reserved bacon grease
1 small onion, peeled & finely chopped
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup small curd cottage cheese or 1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup butter, melted (1/2 stick)

Steps:

  • Adjust oven rack to top third position, and pre-heat oven to 350°F.
  • Coat 9"x5"x3" loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • In a skillet, cook the bacon just until crisp.
  • Using a slotted spoon, transfer bacon to paper towels to drain; then coarsely dice.
  • Discard all but 2 tablespoons of the bacon grease.
  • Add onion, and saute over medium-low heat until tranlucent (2-3 minutes).
  • In a large bowl, thoroughly mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
