- In a large skillet, bring 1 in. of water to a boil. Add asparagus; cover and cook for 3 minutes. Drain and immediately place asparagus in ice water. Drain and pat dry., Place an asparagus spear, red pepper strip and cheese strip on each piece of ham. Roll up tightly; tie with a chive. Refrigerate until serving. ,

Toasted baguette slices are topped with ham and Brie, baked until warm and melty, then topped with fig jam.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly brush both sides of baguette slices with oil and place slightly spaced on rimmed baking pans. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned and crisp.
- Top each slice with ham and Brie and bake for an additional 5-8 minutes or until Brie has just begun to melt. Top each crostini with fig jam and serve warm for best flavor.

My husband is an avowed vegetable hater, but I have no trouble getting him to eat this easy to prepare dish. Good for company too.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Place asparagus in a steamer over 1 inch of boiling water, and cover. Cook until tender but still crisp, about 2 to 6 minutes. Drain and place in a shallow baking dish.
- Lay cheese slices over asparagus. In a small bowl combine melted butter, bread crumbs and sesame seeds. Sprinkle over cheese.
- Bake in preheated oven for 8 minutes.
- Increase oven to broil. Broil just until breadcrumbs are golden brown.
