MOM'S APPLESAUCE CAKE
Mom's Applesauce Cake is an old-fashioned, treasured family recipe, that I found in my mom's recipe box.

Steps:
- In a large bowl beat the egg. Add the sugars, oil, vanilla, and applesauce. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl mix together all the dry ingredients. Add the dry ingredients to the liquids and mix until combined.
- Pour the batter into a 13" x 9" baking dish that has been sprayed with non-stick spray.
- Bake in a 350 degree oven for 23-28 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center of the cake. Let the cake cool.
- Frost if desired.

APPLE SPICE DUMP CAKE
This cake was done on a whim trying to think of something other than the traditional dump cake to serve for Memorial Day. It turned out very good, especially with some vanilla ice cream.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C.)
- Pour the cans of apple pie filling into a 9 x 13 inch rectangular pan.
- In a small bowl, mix together cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and sugar. Sprinkle mixture over pie filling.
- Pour the dry box of cake mix over apples. Dot with butter and scatter nuts on top.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 minutes to an hour, until cake is brown on top and bubbling on the sides. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped topping.

- In a large bowl, beat the applesauce, sugar, shortening and eggs. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and cloves; gradually beat into applesauce mixture until blended. Stir in the raisins, chocolate chips and walnuts. , Pour into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.

APPLESAUCE DUMP CAKE WITH SPICED DUSTING SUGAR
An easy to make from scratch applesauce dump cake. You can mix it in the baking pan or in a bowl if you prefer. Optional serving suggestions are included. The spiced dusting sugar is also good on French toast. I often double the dusting sugar recipe to keep it on hand for other desserts.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In an 8-inch square pan, or a large bowl, dump the ingredients as listed.
- Mix all ingredients together with a fork.If mixing the batter in the baking pan, scrape into the corners with a spatula to make sure everything is mixed well.
- Bake on middle shelf of oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until cake tests done.
- Place cake on rack to cool.
- Serving:.
- Cut cake into squares and sprinkle each serving with the spiced dusting sugar ingredients mixed together, or use plain sifted icing sugar.
- Or, serve each square of cake with a dollop of whipped cream on top and sprinkle with sifted cinnamon or the spiced dusting sugar.
