Steps:

Wrap the dough and chill thoroughly Roll the dough on a lightly floured surface to 3/8 an inch thickness. Cut with a floured 2 inch round cutter. Place rounds on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 till edges are golden, 8-10 minutes.
• 2. Sugar was hard to come by, back then. So this original recipe has no frosting. Feel free to glaze or frost.. to your choosing.

QUICK AND EASY APPLE PIE COOKIES

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
• Sift flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and baking powder together in a bowl.
• Mix brown sugar and egg together in a bowl; stir in apples, cinnamon, and cloves. Blend softened butter into the apple mixture with a fork. Slowly stir flower mixture into the apple mixture until combined. Spoon batter onto a baking sheet.
• Bake in the preheated oven until lightly brown, about 12 minutes.

EASY OATMEAL CREAM PIES

Steps:

• Beat butter and eggs until blended. Beat in cake mix and oats. Refrigerate, covered, 2 hours or until firm enough to roll, though dough will remain fairly soft., Preheat oven to 350°. On a well-floured surface, roll half of dough to 1/4-in. thickness. Cut with a floured 2-1/2-in. round cookie cutter. Place 1 in. apart on parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake until set, 8-10 minutes. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool completely. Repeat with remaining dough., Spread frosting on bottoms of half of the cookies; cover with remaining cookies. Freeze option: Freeze assembled sandwich cookies in freezer containers, separating layers with waxed paper. To use, thaw before serving.

APPLE PIE COOKIES

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
• Beat butter, cream cheese, and vanilla extract together in a large bowl until smooth. Add flour, 5 teaspoons sugar, baking powder, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon; mix until dough comes together.
• Roll dough into a 1/4-inch thick round on a floured work surface. Cut out 48 circles with a cookie cutter.
• Top 24 dough circles with a teaspoon of apple pie filling. Cover with remaining 24 dough circles. Crimp edges with a fork to seal. Arrange cookies on lined baking sheets.
• Bake in the preheated oven until cookies are golden brown, 23 to 29 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes.
• Mix 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon together in a shallow bowl. Roll warm cookies in sugar and cinnamon mixture until coated. Transfer to a wire rack to cool, about 10 minutes.
