These fudgy brownies are delicious. People say that the moist treats have a texture somewhere between chewy and cake-like brownies. We like to break them into pieces and create a trifle with chocolate pudding, toffee chips and whipped topping.-Helen Turner, Upland, Indiana

1 cup butter, melted
1 cup sugar
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
7 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; gradually add to butter mixture just until moistened., Transfer to a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (do not overbake). Cool on a wire rack.

I've added to and altered the recipe over the years, and now I think it has the perfect amount of everything, including semisweet and milk chocolate chips and pecans. 2/3 cup butter, cubed
3/4 cup baking cocoa
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
Confectioners' sugar
Pecan halves, toasted, optional

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a large saucepan. Whisk in cocoa and oil until smooth. Cook and stir over low heat until cocoa is blended. Transfer to a large bowl; stir in sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to cocoa mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. , Spread into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Dust with confectioners' sugar. Garnish with pecan halves if desired.

Number Of Ingredients 10

65 g plain flour
65 g cocoa powder
1 large egg
1 g baking soda
50 g butter (better if it is low fat)
6 g sugar
75 g white chocolate (Asda's is better)
20 g nuts (optional) or 20 g chocolate chips (optional)
2 1/2 ml vanilla essence
20 g white chocolate

Steps:

  • Preheat Oven to 180 degrees.
  • Mix the eggs, butter and vanilla essence in a bowl.
  • Melt the white chocolate stirring regulary. When smooth, mix it in with the above mixture.
  • In a seperate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, sugar and coca powder.
  • Add the dry ingrediants to the liquid mixture and stir until it looks moist and well mixed together.
  • Stir in nuts or chocolate chips last.
  • Pour mixture into a dish and evenly spread it out. Put into oven for 10 - 13 minutes.
  • When the brownies are finished cooking, take out of the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. Drizzle melted white chocolate over the top for a decoration and then cut to serve.

This are the easiest and most delicious brownies that I have ever eaten. They are so moist and super quick and easy to make. For best results, use a Dutch processed cocoa. For less cake-like brownies, use all-purpose flour instead of self rising.

1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
½ cup self-rising flour
⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8x8 or 9x9 inch baking pan.

1/2 cup Crisco shortening
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate squares
3/4 cup sifted enriched flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup broken walnuts (optional)

Steps:

  • Melt shortening and chocolate together in a metal bowl placed over hot water.
  • Cool.
  • Sift the flour by shaking it through a sieve WITH the baking powder and salt.
  • Beat the eggs until light; add sugar, then add the chocolate mixture and blend.
  • Add flour, vanilla and nuts.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour batter into a greased 8 x 8 x 2 pan.
  • Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes.

5 -6 ounces dark baking chocolate
1/2 cup salted butter
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons maple syrup
3 -4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 cups whole milk or 1 cup half-and-half
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups white flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
4 -5 ounces semisweet baking chocolate
1/3-1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/3-1/2 cup sugar

Steps:

  • Melt dark chocolate bars in a double boiler until melted and add butter until melted.
  • Add sugar and maple syrup and blend.
  • After cool, add 3 or 4 eggs and whisk together well.
  • Add 2 teaspoons vanilla.
  • Add milk or half and half and whisk together well.
  • In a separate large bowl, add 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and 1 1/2 cups white flour together with 1 teaspoons baking powder. Whisk until well blended.
  • Add liquid ingredients from pan into the bowl of dry ingredients. Mix until well blended.
  • Bake at 350 degrees in middle of oven for 20-30 minutes depending on whether you use a metal or glass pan. Metal pans cook brownies faster. A knife inserted in center should come out clean when they are done.
  • For the frosting or glaze (depending on how much liquid you use) melt 4 or 5 ounces of the semi-sweet chocolate in double boiler and add sugar until dissolved. Place mixture in a mixing bowl and add evaporated milk until you get desired consistency. You can vary amount of sugar for taste.
