YULETIDE CHERRY COOKIES

Steps:

• In a large bowl, cream the butter, cream cheese and sugar. Beat in almond extract. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or until easy to handle., Shape dough into 1-in. balls; roll in crushed cereal. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately press a cherry half into the center of each cookie. Remove to wire racks to cool.

HOMEMADE GUMDROPS

Steps:

• In a large saucepan, combine 2 cups sugar, applesauce, red or green gelatin, unflavored gelatin and lemon juice; let stand for 1 minute. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute. Immediately pour into a cold 11x7-in. baking dish coated with cooking spray. Refrigerate for 3 hours or until firm., With a spatula, loosen gelatin from sides of pan. To remove, invert onto waxed paper. Using kitchen scissors or small sharp cookie cutters dipped on hot water, cut into 1-in. squares or shapes. , Place on waxed paper. Dry at room temperature for about 8 hours or until slightly sticky. Roll in remaining sugar. Store in an airtight container.

YULETIDE DROPS

Steps:

• Cream butter, sugar, and eggs till fluffy. Stir in sour cream. Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and cloves. Stir into creamed mixture. Mix in oats, pecans, dates, raisins, and chopped cherries. Drop from rounded tsp. 2" apart onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Top each cookie with half a cherry. Bake in 350 degree farenheight oven 10 to 12 mins. Remove from cookie sheet, cool on rack.

YULETIDE DROPS

Steps:

• Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and beat till fluffy.
• Stir in sour cream.
• Add the flour, soda, cinnamon, salt, and cloves.
• Mix in the oats nuts, dates, raisins, and cherries.
• Drop from a teaspoon onto a lightly greased sheet about 2" apart.
• Top each cookie with a halved cherry.
• Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
