- Bake for 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until the sugar is bubbly. To serve, place the wieners in a slow cooker and keep on the low setting.

PIGS IN A BLANKET (BLANKIES FROM SCRATCH)
I have been using this recipe for blanketed piggies since I first came across it almost 15 years ago from either my sister or my grade 9 home economics class. I'm so glad I have it since it's so hard to find a blanket recipe from scratch! I can cover a typical Canadian package of 12 hot dogs with this recipe.

Steps:
- Sift the dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Mix in the butter/margarine and milk.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to desired thickness and as wide as the hot dogs to be wrapped are.
- Wrap the individual hot dogs or sausages in their own blanket.
- Bake at 425°F for about 10 minutes or until slightly brown.
- *If you get to the end of the dough, yet still have more hot dogs left without blankets, it's easy just to roll the wrapped hot dogs between your hand and your work surface to make their blanket thinner, that way you can cut off the excess dough off from either side of the hot dog and combine the ends and roll out another strip of blanket. Maybe you'd like to consider adding a bit of cheese inside the blanket for added flavor.
BACON WRAPPED WEINERS
A cousin of mine loves cooking and shares all her favorites with me. This one came several years ago, I served these to a group and the requests have never ended. These are addictive and delicious.

Steps:
- Line large baking sheet with foil (we don't always do this, but it's easier for cleanup).
- Cut bacon into thirds, resulting in several 3" strips.
- wrap each weiner with bacon, line them loosely in the pan as you go.
- Cover with brown sugar, it'll seem like a lot of sugar, but it cooks down
- Bake 375 for 45 minutes. Broil at the end until top is crisped.
- Hurry and get your share before everyone eats them all!

- Mix water, yeast, and honey until yeast and honey are dissolved. Add the salt, oil, and 4 1/2 cups of flour to make a soft dough.
- Beat with a stand mixer for a minute or two (or knead a minute), adding the other 1/2 cup flour as needed to help dough be less sticky (you may not need all of it- and it will still be somewhat tacky- that is, sticking to the bowl in places, but not to your fingers when you gently touch the dough). Let it rest 10 minutes.
- Remove to a floured surface and knead by hand a few times. Press dough flat on floured surface and cut into 12 to 16 (depending on how much bun you want around each hot dog) roughly even pieces.
- Press each piece into a rectangular shape just short of the length of your hot dogs, and laying a hot dog on each rectangle, wrap the dough around the dog, pinching the ends to seal.*
